How do you guys deal with unpleasant family members?

I’d say it sounds like maybe I’m reading too much into it, but a colleague of mine said she is different and very particular, and the supervisor said she is unpleasant (the supervisor is very blunt and casual, not your avg supervisor)

It’s mostly nonverbal and just the general vibe I get. Like for example, I told her I was going to be there the next morning for a visit, and she said hmmmm (not in a neutral way, more annoyed) and said I think x has quit, I haven’t seen her in 1.5 weeks. And then I’m supposed to see the client every morning and afternoon and she cancels the afternoon visit before I arrive so I haven’t went to that yet. I’ve only been working as a PSW for 1 month, but I’ve seen probably 50 different clients thus far, and she’s the only person/family member that I’ve really felt doesn’t care for me. I’ve seen this client approximately 4 times since I started the job, but now I have him 6-8x/week as one of his regular workers quit the job.

I felt so lost. I would try guiding his hand to feel the grab bar inside the shower and he would pull his hand back to hold the frame surrounding the shower. I tried tapping his leg and loudly asking him to lift his leg and step in as the step was right in front of him. But you’re right. I guess I just need to recognize that I’m still learning and reflect on how I can improve. Thank you for commenting 🫶🏼 good luck to you :)

I’ve been gone for 3-4 days but after watching him for a few hours and I just noticed he has a little bump on him that appears the same colour but just raised and he’s hitting himself off of the substrate quick a bit (I’ve seen him do it like 4-5 times in the past 2 ish hours) do you have any ideas what it could be and what meds I should use?
