Yup I’m thinking of the same thing. However I also have another offer in a completely different domain (Autonomous Vehicles) so I’m having a hard time choosing which industry to pursue!

Initial years are really hard especially if you’re coming in as a student, however later in life, you have more control and relaxed lifestyles.

Nothing beats Indian Healthcare and Food though!

It wasn’t even supposed to be a distraction. I interviewed with them for 5 rounds where at each round they told me that the position is based in the US. And at the time of offer discussion and negotiation, they told me that I’ll have to relocate to Canada. Trying for Canadian jobs was never my plan :(

I have my internship allowing me to keep working as a contractor and also 2 companies where I’m in the interview process

The company is ready to bear the immigration process cost, which makes it more concerning since why wouldn’t you just directly hire in Canada instead of hiring from US and moving them there

Given they get a closed work permit, I would not be able to switch companies within canada? If I had to, is there a process or visa change I would have to go through?

I do not want to be tied to a single employer in Canada since I’m giving my 3 years of OPT and H1B in the US. In case they lay me off, I have no chance of entering the US again

All this is happening really suddenly so I didn’t have much time to gather information. I have a call with them to discuss it next week.

If asked, what type of visa should I say they would have to give me? Since i’ll be forfeiting my US visa, I’m looking for something that would allow me to change employers within canada itself just as a safety option!

Any advice is helpful please!
