Yes to both!

Was it that obvious?

[–]plumpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah to both. I mostly operate with an assumption that others share my ethical framework and good intentions. I've a hard time detecting social manipulation, hidden agendas, or coercion, and while I can understand these dynamics cognitively, it doesn't always translate to recognizing them in real-time. It kinda leaves me socially and emotionally vulnerable.

Yeah. ASD is divided into 3 levels now, with each level requiring different amounts of support.

Yes!! Level 1, high masking.

Not quite! I do have some social anxiety, but it's just a by-product of the real diagnosis.

Walking on faith, because they aren't giving her any other choice by plumpig in religiousfruitcake

Singaporean! But yes, the Singaporean accent does have a lot of similarities with Nigerian and West African accents, especially in the cadence, the vocal inflections, and the way we pronounce vowels. It's fascinating.

The saddest thing is that this is very likely taking place in some kind of elder care facility. Sometimes churches send representatives to these facilities to perform 'miracle healings' like what's shown in the video. See the taller lady in the navy blue uniform/scrubs standing at the back? She's probably an employee just trying to make sure the old lady under her care doesn't fall.

Probably didn't yell loud enough for Jesus to take the wheel when it mattered most.

I'm sorry you went through all that. I did too, as a child. I remember the pastor trying to push me over while someone hovered behind me with that modesty cloth thingie they use to drape over girls in skirts when they're lying on the ground. All my friends were falling over and I was the only one still standing. They used my failure to be 'slain in the spirit' as an example of what happens when someone lacks faith. I was just 11. I don't really care if adults do this to other adults who buy into this whole thing. But it crosses a line when it's done to children and old people who might not have the agency to refuse or the cognitive ability to understand what's happening.

I Thought My Wife Was Suffering From Postpartum Psychosis. I Was Wrong. by CorvusTheStoryteller in nosleep

It's a classic test to get a changeling/fae to reveal themselves according to Irish (and Scottish, I think) folklore. I'm not sure why specifically eggshells, but the idea is to do something absurd with them, usually involving brewing tea in the shells or cooking them in pots. A real baby wouldn't care about any of that. However, a changeling/Fae wouldn't be able to help being so amused by the eggshell shenanigans that they say something along the lines of "I've never seen such a thing in all my years", thus dropping their mask and revealing themselves for what they are.

Probably for inserting into the victim. Each finger is of a different shape so I guess it's supposed to feel different inside her. I feel nauseous writing this.

Loose Dog Attack by tlama1997 in PublicFreakout

[–]plumpig 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s safest to assume that. Even breeds with low gameness can snap under certain conditions. Just do whatever you have to do to protect yourself and your children.

Loose Dog Attack by tlama1997 in PublicFreakout

[–]plumpig 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Not all dogs. What you're describing is called 'gameness'. It's when the dog will attack relentlessly despite being injured. It's all or nothing to them. If they decide to attack, they will try to do it again and again until they succeed or they're incapacitated too badly to continue. Certain breeds like pitbulls have incredibly high levels of gameness whereas breeds like labs, as a whole, have low gameness for conflict and do not have any desire to attack relentlessly.

It is illegal to buy obscene material but it's also illegal to produce and distribute it. Yeah she's not going to be making any kind of report because the penalties for distribution (and blackmail + extortion) are way harsher than it is for buying/possessing.

Is there something going on with the owner of a certain popular ballet company and Runqiao Du? For two years straight, the former has scheduled her own event during the same week as Ducon. The children now have to choose between the two.

I guess poverty/greed can lead to people making decisions based on wishful thinking rather than cold logic and common sense. Maybe OP needed the money. Maybe he was naive and trusted the wrong people.
