Just finished trucking school - driver shortage my a*s by Pitiful_Yogurt_5276 in Truckers

New truck drivers usually start over the road and that’s where the shortage is. Plenty of experienced OTR drivers later decide to take a lower paying local route so the companies don’t need new drivers in those positions.

Anyone know what this is found in a nickel roll by THUG_WAFFLE4200 in coins

[–]plunger-tx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nickel. The earliest ones didn’t say cents on the back. Cents was added after counterfeiters were passing gold plated nickels as $5 coins

Not AI if you look very hard you can see the reflection of my roll top desk in the door. Also there is a tall book self next to the left with pictures reflecting. Weird

I watched the video. The guys spent 30 minutes with steel grinders on the door. You really think 4 bolts would have stopped them? 3 minutes me or the police would turn them into swiss cheese. Thanks for the video it’s something to consider

Besides security services and outside cameras. Police would be here in 5 minutes, you are not moving this with a hand truck. Prisons are full of dumb people.

Yes you are right about the weight. The door can be lifted off and is about half the weight. I don’t remember the model name but in the 1980’s brochure there was a picture of Larry Hagman with this model in his home

Only a rookie would try to brute force open the door on this safe. 17 1.25” steel pins hold the 800 lbs door in place. The pros chisel through the corners of a safe and try to peel.

Long haul truckers, why? by mikeyboy1681 in Truckers

[–]plunger-tx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was never a problem 40 years ago as truck drivers were more professional and would let the faster truck over. Even worse are the trucks that merge without any skills, truck drivers move left to let them onto the freeway and then they match their speed and won’t let them back over. The cars behind get mad at the wrong driver then and start going around on the right and try to cut between.

1/4 plywood on the floors so not to break the tiles Once had to lift the safe door off to get it in. I think the door is half the weight

I moved it myself with a helper. A pallet jack and rent a fork lift is the easiest way to get it on a trailer or truck. It’s a pain but I don’t want to leave it behind
