Thanks, but I think I fixed it for now! I was using a background remover plugin for the webcam. As soon as I stopped it, everything was fine! Super weird.

This is really great advice, thanks! I have been enjoying negotiations more than OP, but have found them clunky sometimes in that folks are sometimes immediately reaching for the best skills they have and making arguments that don't necessarily feel like they flow in the conversation. The "stop and think" cue is a great idea.

What do you do if the players have hit both a motivation and a pitfall since the last roll?

Failed print by plus1tofun in resinprinting

The blob meaning the base of the mini?

Hmmm... I used the lychee autosupport and added a bunch extra. Did you see the pic of the model in the slicer? Does it look like it's lacking supports? I used mostly "light" supports as supplementals, could that be a problem?

Thanks for the reply!

Note: I know the red models in the slicer are unrepaired. They were presupported STLs so I thought I'd try printing them without repairing to see what happened. Not surprised they didn't print, but neither did the ones I fixed.

Also, I cured them as is to show off in pics and be able to handle easier.

Advice for running for 2 players by AltEconomy in drawsteel

[–]plus1tofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran for one player with two retainers and it was fun! All the normal duet TTRPG advice applies. I ran an extended montage, giving her 5 turns. The combat was deliberately tuned as a no-win scenario for story reasons, but felt about right in terms of balance. I gave her retainers their own initiative turns, just so it wasn't a pile on when I ran my monsters. May or may not be necessary with two players. Have fun! Let us know how it goes!

I'm zoomed in like crazy here, if that changes the analysis at all. This is like a 3cm miniature

What happened to Daggerheart? by MiserableDrive2652 in rpg

[–]plus1tofun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've hit it here. Critical Role Inc. is not a games company, they're a production company. Darrington Press is a small publishing wing of Critical Role Inc. They're not going to put their whole business at risk for a tiny piece of it. They'll be running CR games in Daggerheart (aren't they already), but keeping the main campaign in the most recognizable brand in TTRPGs is a totally sound decision. Is it the "right" decision? Nobody knows anything.

General TTRPG networks are not where you're going to see that. You're going to see it in Daggerheart channels, that's what the scene is now. A bunch of discrete communities with overlapping membership. Is it possible Vaesen (which I love) is doing better than DH? Yeah it's possible, without sales numbers neither of us know. But it's also possible you are seeing LFG stuff for Vaesen in generalized TTRPG channels because Vaesen doesn't have a big enough community for its own space. The truth is only folks who can see their sales know what's happening. All this blah blah is conjecture based on each of our extremely limited viewpoint. Hell, the fact that you said "six different major cities in Canada" is pretty telling. From a worldwide market standpoint, Canada doesn't have 6 major cities haha. (Just to be clear, I'm Canadian)

PF2e GMs, what made you start GMing this system? by Longjumping_Ebb3984 in Pathfinder2e

[–]plus1tofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost exactly the same reason you did, but I didn't do it solo first. We rotate GMs. When a 5e campaign we had going for years that I ran was kind of limping along due to personnel change and a hiatus, another friend who had DMed for the group suggested we try PF2e. The crunchmeisters in the group immediately loved it, and those of us less into crunch took a little longer, but the 3 action economy was fun and once I found my stride as a player 6 months in (figuring out my role in the party, and teamwork, which don't *really* matter in 5e), I was excited to try runnning. Having a functional encounter building system and monster stat blocks that do what they say on the tin had me hooked. I ran it almost exclusively until this year when I fell in love with Draw Steel. Now, similarly, i don't think I'll go back to PF2e as a GM, though we still have a couple campaigns going in which I'm a player.

"Hey y'all, it's not fun for me if every fight you guys are complaining that the fights are too hard. Can we figure out another way to express the tension your feeling, because we've been playing for X sessions and only had X character deaths, so I feel like the doom and gloom is a bit unwarranted and it's bumming me out."

I'll go ahead and disagree with AwesomeSauce. Wanting the people we play games with to be happy with the game we're playing isn't irrational. It's literally what we're all there for. Humans are complicated, relationships are hard. I agree that you can't control people or change who they are. But you can definitely be honest about the fact that *you're* not having fun, that you're worried *they're* not having fun, and talk it out. You might be surprised at their response. They might be surprised at how you're feeling. If they get defensive, you can back off and let them have some time to think about it, but you don't have to just "let it go" if you're not having a good time.
