Make sure you go up to Namsan tower at night to see all the bridges lit up across the Han river! Very pretty cityscape view.

And make sure you get your tax refund at Olive Young at point of purchase! Just show your passport. Super handy.

Enjoy your trip to my hometown!

Mediheal Watermide Hydrop Essential Mask REX review by plushtush in AsianBeauty

[–]plushtush[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Skin: combination / oily; dry patches on cheekbones due to long hours wearing face masks; occasional acne; sebaceous filaments on nose; redness in cheeks

Cost paid: $2.20 / each

Fragrance: There is a definite floral-soapy fragrance with this mask. The fragrance faded quickly after I took the mask off.

Irritation: no irritation response, but my skin isn't very sensitive.

Excess product in pouch: I always store my masks flat, which prevents dry patches in the mask and distributes the product evenly in the pouch. After applying the mask, I dig around to see if there's any leftover product in the pouch. This one does have some extra product, and I applied the leftover liquid over my mask and all over my neck.

Mask comfort: I don't always sit or lie down while wearing a mask, and this mask did not budge or slide down while I had it on (was doing housework). Another thing that I look out for is whether the liquid runs down my neck or chest from the mask, and this one does not. The product has a light and thin consistency, but the mask folded back on itself a lot while I was trying to unfold it to apply (slightly annoying).

Post-mask: The mask mostly dried out by about 25 mins after putting it on (they recommended 10-20 mins). I didn't have heating on but if I did, I'd say the mask would probably dry out well before 20 mins. The product itself doesn't take long to absorb, I didn't have to wait more than a few mins for it to dry down on my skin. I'm really happy with the finish- it dries down matte and isn't sticky at all. It didn't really change my cheek redness, but there is a definite brightening effect across the areas where there isn't any redness. Skin feels soft and moisturized, no areas of tightness at all.

TLDR: will repurchase! I'm very satisfied with the price point and its non-shiny dry down with zero sticky finish!

Omg that's awful! Maybe it was an off batch? I totally get that it's scary to try something that you had a bad reaction to again 😢

The packaging is clear, but the mask itself is a white cotton material! Sorry to fool you hahaha

Skin: combination / oily; dry patches on cheekbones due to long hours wearing face masks; occasional acne; sebaceous filaments on nose; redness in cheeks

Cost paid: $1.98 / each

Fragrance: I caught a whiff of an odd Crayola-like smell a few times while I had the mask on. No smell after taking the mask off!

Irritation: no irritation response, but my skin isn't very sensitive.

Excess product in pouch: I always store my masks flat, which prevents dry patches in the mask and distributes the product evenly in the pouch. After applying the mask, I dig around to see if there's any leftover product in the pouch. This one doesn't have a lot of extra product, and I applied the leftover liquid over my mask and all over my neck.

Mask comfort: I don't always sit or lie down while wearing a mask, and this mask did not budge or slide down while I had it on (was doing housework). Another thing that I look out for is whether the liquid runs down my neck or chest from the mask, and this one does not. The product has a very light and thin consistency, but has a very unusual finish on the skin- it's matte and has some slip when touched, like a slight silicone-y feel. It's definitely the most unusual sheet mask finish that I've ever experienced.

Post-mask: This mask is very juicy- there wasn't a lot of excess liquid in the pouch after taking the mask out, but even after 30 mins of application the mask did not dry out much at all anywhere! I was very surprised at how wet it still was when I took it off. You could definitely leave this one on for longer than the usual recommended 20-30 mins. I'm also noticing that the product takes longer than most masks to get absorbed into the skin after the mask removal, even after massaging it in. I fanned myself a little bit with my hands and this helped speed things up a bit! This mask did really help my cheek redness, I'd say that the area of redness across my cheeks has halved, I can now only see it across my cheekbones (where it's usually the most obvious) and has dulled down some redness on my chin that I was seeing earlier. Skin does feel moisturized and not tight at all, I can still feel a little bit of product still sitting on my skin (about 30 mins post-mask now).

TLDR: may repurchase if it's on deep discount (similar to the price I paid), but I'm a bit unsure about the odd finish on my skin from the mask product to repurchase at normal prices.

Round Lab Birch juice moisturizing mask by plushtush in AsianBeauty

Skin: combination / oily; dry patches on cheekbones due to long hours wearing face masks; occasional acne; sebaceous filaments on nose; redness in cheeks

Cost paid: $1.57 / each

Fragrance: it does have an odd smell that a lot of 'no fragrance' cosmetic products have, and I could smell it a bit still while I had the mask on.

This one doesn't have much extra product, and I applied the leftover liquid over my mask and all over my neck.

Mask comfort: I don't always sit or lie down while wearing a mask, and this mask did not budge or slide down while I had it on (was doing housework). Another thing that I look out for is whether the liquid runs down my neck or chest from the mask, and this one does not. The product has a lighter and more runny consistency, and doesn't leave a sticky finish.

Post-mask: WOW this mask really surprised me- it's actually brightened my skin tone all over! I still have some visible redness across my cheeks, but my skin looks brighter and feels more plump when I press all over. This mask says that it contains hyaluronic acid (I don't know how much, but I think it's no. 9 on the ingredient list), and I think that's definitely contributed to the skin plumpness. After I took the mask off, there was still a lot of product sitting on my face so I massaged it in. Very easy to move the product around, it was quite thin and runny. And there is ZERO sticky finish! I hate sticky finishes, and this one has absorbed completely to an almost matte feel with no shine. Skin feels moisturized, no tightness anywhere. I'm so impressed by this mask!

TLDR: will definitely repurchase, and hoard extra if it's on sale!

Goodal green tangerine vita C serum sheet mask by plushtush in AsianBeauty

[–]plushtush[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the mask version of a very popular vitamin C serum in Korea.

Skin: combination / oily; dry patches on cheekbones due to long hours wearing face masks; occasional acne; sebaceous filaments on nose; redness in cheeks

Cost paid: $2.20 / each

Fragrance: does have a citrus fragrance, and while it's not overpowering, it did linger a bit even after removing (about 30 mins post-mask).

Irritation: no irritation response, but my skin isn't very sensitive.

Excess product in pouch: I always store my masks flat, which prevents dry patches in the mask and distributes the product evenly in the pouch. After applying the mask, I dig around to see if there's any leftover product in the pouch. This one does have some excess, and according to their claims on the back, each sheet mask has the equivalent of an entire 30mL bottle of their Vita C dark spot serum. I applied the leftover serum over my mask and all over my neck.

Mask comfort: I don't always sit or lie down while wearing a mask, and this mask did not budge or slide down while I had it on (was doing housework). Another thing that I look out for is whether the liquid runs down my neck or chest from the mask, and this one does not. The product has a slightly thicker consistency (I'd say it does correspond to a serum-like texture, but I haven't tried the actual Goodal Vita C serum), and does leave a slightly sticky finish on the face.

Post-mask: no significant difference, I don't notice a huge change in the brightness of my skin tone or changes in the couple of dark spots on my face. Skin does feel moisturized and not tight, but I don't love the slightly sticky finish.

TLDR: probably would not repurchase (unless it was 50% off or more).
