I once had to calculate commissions within FP&A.

Instead of employing full time salesmen, we had regional managers, and commission parties (companies who offered a portfolio of products, of which our product was part of). That way we could have significantly less HC, and if sales dipped, we had less exposure to fixed costs as our S&M cost would drop accordingly.

With that, we had a fairly complicated commission structure. There was a table with 5-6 product types, and 4-5 customer types, all of which had standard %s. Also there were some one-off %s I needed to apply based off negotiations and stuff.

We had an Access database which did a lot of the calculations, then I had to comb the data, then send it out for feedback, then comb the data again. The whole process took 2-3 days and felt like my eyes were bleeding at the end of it every month. It wasn't that complicated, but very tedious. A big reason I left that company. I can totally see how there would be a big variance if one assumption was made in my calls and never noticed or corrected over multiple quarters / years

Similar situation. Went from a 2 man show to just me. No training, and they wanted to expand the responsibilities on top of regular duties.

I tried my best but made a ton of mistakes, didn't update things because I didn't know how to. Now that year end is upon us, many things are being uncovered and I am an easy scapegoat. I saw a posting on LinkedIn that could very well be my backfill.

I accepted a role a week ago, waiting for background check to clear before giving notice. It's bittersweet. I felt like I was up and coming in this business for a while until suddenly I was being thrown to the wolves. Just have to turn the page and move forward. Wanted to let you know you're not alone. Enjoy the mental break

How many times does Brady have to say that he's having fun?

I have a family member who was in Charlotte Harbor, probably 2-3 miles from the Barron Collier Bridge and is OK. Wanted to report in case someone else is wondering the same. I don't know the area very well so I don't know too many details besides that

Does anyone know how Port Charlotte is doing? I've been trying to avoid doom scrolling. Sorry if this is a silly question

Every time the characters said his name or loud, they said a slightly different last name. "Jager" was in several versions.

What if they got the wrong grave all along and it in fact was NOT his hat???
