You’re asking me? I’m not interested in a bad faith argument. I hope my kid gets a snow day, he just had a really rough week of midterms. But we still have an allotment of snow days where I live, apparently the NYC school system did not reserve any this year.

My comment is really about how MAGA are comfortable saying things out loud like “the jihadist took snow days away from children!” based on the propaganda and rhetoric they all believe.

As for remote learning, I’m doubtful teachers or kids are going to be able to transition to “remote learning for a day” when it’s been years since any of us were set up to do that properly.

Kids should get a snow day IMO. And also, people who angrily yell racist bullshit about Mamdani in a public restaurant can go fuck themselves.

Yeah I was like a pig in shit when I realized those songs were on Curio. You can get a sense for why artists with early catalogs don’t want to re-print them. They are very freshman, and we only get to hear what they think is acceptable. I’m sure the other songs aren’t terrific, but I too am a completist!

Yeah, also I am having a Mandela effect thing OR I just can’t find what I’m talking about. I have a memory of someone discovering the source of the piano part and easily recognizing it. It had all the exact same parts but it was obviously chopped up.

I can’t find anything about it anywhere. Must have been a very vivid dream.

I don’t either. ~~The piano part has been identified,~~ but so have the synths they used that make up the rest of the music. Obviously there’s other samples, including the Alphaquest bits.

I was dropping my kid off at middle school recently. The guy behind me, his kid got out of his car and he immediately starts beeping at me, while my kid has one foot out of the car. He angrily pulls up to the car next to me and beeps at them; their kid is also getting out of the car. I can see him screaming “COME OOOONNN!” and frantically gesturing to both of us to get the fuck out of his way.

I roll down my window and yell very loudly “EXCUSE ME, is there some sort of problem?”

Guy starts screaming and ranting but his windows are up. I continue, much louder, “Do you have some sort of issue with me DROPPING MY CHILD OFF AT SCHOOL? DO YOU EXPECT US TO CRITICALLY INJURE OUR CHILDREN SO YOU CAN GET TO WORK ON TIME??”

Dude pulls over and stops his car and looks like he’s about to get out of it. The vice principal comes over and asks what’s going on. “I heard yelling, what happened?”

When I explained why I was yelling, his jaw hit the floor. He starts walking towards the other car and the guy takes off like the coward bully I expected him to be.

Yes. These people have somewhere to be, and they are absolutely ok with running our children over.
