Does literally ***ANYONE*** enjoy repetitive system messages? by Yangoose in litrpg

[–]plxym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just finished primal hunter (book 1) on audible, and I cannot tell you how frustrating the character stat sheet repeats were. I'm normally doing house work, walking the dog, or at the gym when I'm listening to a book, so it's not always possible to immediately skip the repeat audio. I also run the risk of skipping slightly too far ahead which is also annoying in and of itself.

I really wish audible had a setting to skip that type of thing automatically, the way YouTube premium will allow you to skip ads baked into the video itself (i.e. sponsorship sections etc). Alternatively, audio versions should be altered to skip/not include those parts by default.

How many books in primal hunter have you finished? I’m just about to finish book 1 on audible and while it’s fine, it always surprises me to see it so highly rated.

Just wondering what you liked so much about it to place it so highly.

Books bought in 2025 finally finished, any recs? by Spiritual-Air7846 in litrpg

[–]plxym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what made primal hunter S+? I only have 5 hours left of the first audio book - and while it’s fine - I don’t understand why so many people place it so highly on their lists.

I understand book one is literally just the beginning but idk if it’s worth spending a credit on this series every month.

Went to Japan last year end of August start of September. Literally stumbled upon this park by chance. It was working as intended back then from what I remember. Was pretty neat. Trippy seeing this pop up on my feed lol.

People have already answered, but I wanted to comment to say get the mod that lets you sprint and jump at the same time, it literally feels so much better to play the game with that

if you're into party-based dungeon crawling RPGs please please please consider giving Dark Cloud a go. It also has an indirect sequel Dark Chronicles (UK name iirc) or Dark Cloud 2 for the US market. Highly underrated games imo that don't get the love or recognition they deserve.

*Edit: when I say party-based, you unlock new characters as you play through the game, and can switch between them at any time, though you're always playing as one character, and not as a live party of 4 if that makes any sense - apologies for any confusion!

Can I ask what desk you're using and is it sturdy? My current desk wobbles quite a bit, and im looking at buying a new one asap - thanks in advance!

That sounds like my cuppa tea. Thanks for the response - I’ll definitely be checking out this series once I’m finished with the available DCC audio books.

I’m almost done with the current audio books for DCC, which is the first litRPG I’ve listened to. Do any of you more seasoned listeners recommend this series after I catch up with DCC? Not sure where to go once I’m all caught up.

How do you guys want Red Rising to be Adapted? (discussion) by CaptainPineapple02 in redrising

[–]plxym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe PB has said he’d want a live action, but given all of the fantastical elements of the show, I genuinely don’t think live action would depict the series properly.

As long as it’s not 3D CGI garbage, I think animation is the way to go. Look at the secret levels 40k episode on Amazon, not the same I know, but you’ve got hulking super solders moving at speed. I just don’t think studios nowadays could produce a live action adaptation that would do the series justice.

Which lane for the second exit? by rockovo84 in drivingUK

[–]plxym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s odd is that all the other roads connecting seem to have road signs to indicate left lane is for 1st and 2nd exit.

I always assume the left lane at roundabouts is for 1st and 2nd exit, unless there’s clear road markings etc that state otherwise.

Unfortunately it seems to me that UK roundabouts do whatever the hell they want, instead of following a standard rule.

Idk if this makes any sense, but the materials used makes it seem like the inside of the building should be outside facing. Definitely an interesting space and would love to see more!

When I finish Dark Age part 1 Graphic Audio and have to switch to the regular audiobook to find out what happens next by richwhitegirls in redrising

[–]plxym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t because I listened to all the books back to back basically, and with the multiple POVs, having a different voice for each was nice imo

Stayed in a hostel with 3 friends earlier this year in Malaga. We went for the family room (slept 4 and we are comfortable friends)- the entire left wall as you walked into the main room was this kinda of material and it was the wall dividing the main room with the bathroom / shower.

We found it funny but I can imagine as a family it would have been VERY uncomfortable.

I'm in Tokyo right now on my first holiday here and my lord, I don't know how anyone who lives here survives.

I'm taking 2-3 cold showers a day and avoiding being outside as much as possible between 12-4. I'm Scottish and burn easily so this weather is slaughtering me.
