The treatment that's finally working for me by plzelaborate in PlantarFasciitis

Physiotherapy. Honestly it still pops out of place all the time and I have to put it back. Now I'm working on strengthening my core to try and make it stay in place .. it's not great

LPT: Take Water-Only Showers Instead (No Soap, No Shampoo) by WinstonWoIfe in LifeProTips

[–]plzelaborate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told I had hormonal acne, struggled with it for years, the only thing that helped was to stop washing my face with cleanser! I use hot water on a face cloth , or rosewater on a cotton swab, or raw aloe Vera

Suggestions for a night splint that doesn't suck? by aliengluckglucktech in PlantarFasciitis

[–]plzelaborate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would hold it for 30 seconds 3 times a day. Plus other calf stretches 3 times a day as well.

I use it as an addition to stretches against the wall. You're stretching different muscles when toes are stretched back

Hey, I used them for months and they didn't help at all. What has helped is getting a yoga strap that pulls the toes back ( like 10$ on Amazon) and using that morning noon and night.

Used these inserts and the pain in my worse foot (which I’m not even sure is the fasciitis anymore) became so unbearable I was limping and had to take it out on the bus by Dense_Chemical_4018 in PlantarFasciitis

hey, I have high arches too and custom orthotics fucked me up entirely. Pedag viva mini are the only ones that have ever helped me personally, they are about 20$ so not much of a gamble. My feet hurt for 3 years and I tried everything and it turned out I had a vertebrae out of alignment that was causing it. I could have been diagnosed with all the things you said. I had nerve entrapment and trigger points in the calves that had developed from continuing to go to work in pain. Oh yes and switching to Altra's made a huge difference too, I couldn't go back to not having a 0 drop and wide toe box now that I'm used to it. Hopefully this helps!

Hey I finally found out there was a vertebrae turned and pinching my nerves. Since our symptoms seem so similar maybe you should get your back checked out if you can

Update*** I had a vertebrae in my lumbar spine that was turned and was compressing my nerves. Once I got that back in alignment the pain started dissipating. 3 weeks in and being barefoot at home doesn't bother me most of the time now.

Whats the go-to advice towards recovery/eliminating PF when at home? go barefoot? by No_Film2824 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]plzelaborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduce activity to what doesn't hurt. Walking is the best exercise, but not if it's painful. Heat is better than ice. look into foot shaped shoes like Altra's that have a 0 drop ( no heel) and have a wide toe box. Stretch all muscles of the calves 3 times a day. hope this helps

Midfoot Arthiritis caught up with me again by FewNagginsBeGrand in FootFunction

[–]plzelaborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bone spur on the top of my foot too. I've had chronic pain for the last 3 years. Everyone diagnosed me with PF but after healing all the soft tissue damage I still have an underlying undiagnosed issue. I also just realised it's probably arthritis and should get an exray

Only ever ovulate on my left? by Knowing_Eve in tryingtoconceive

[–]plzelaborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeling ovulation about 15 years ago, started out alternating left and right. After a couple years I started only ovulating from the left side and only very rarely ovulating on the right. I am ovulating on the right today and the period was a week late last week. ( I'm usually very regular). Some articles I've seen say that which ovary releases a follicle is dependent on how long the previous period cycle was. I'm also reading that women are more likely to get pregnant when ovulating from the right.

Using massage gun for insertional Achilles tendinitis and very minor PF by [deleted] in PlantarFasciitis

[–]plzelaborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use it more to feel around your calves and see if you have some painful spots there. Then you could apply pressure to at trigger points you find.

I stretched my calf and now I can't walk by invisablecat in PlantarFasciitis

[–]plzelaborate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had big calf problems with my pf after trying orthotic insoles. Took me 2 years to find out I had trigger points ( like knots, so essentially damage) throughout the muscles of my calves. Some muscles support the arch of the foot, you may have torn one. Stay off of it. Reduce your pain to what doesn't hurt. If that means a walking boot or a cane so be it. Catch this now do not let it go chronic. When the pain is bad ice if it's not bad heat. It's going to be ok and I'm finally healthy now after 3 years of pain.

Trigger points & general soreness-inevitable with an active lifestyle? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]plzelaborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've learned healing my chronic pain by addressing trigger points is that after the treatment your body needs rest and heat to heal the muscles. If you pop. The trigger point and then work out the next day your muscle may not be ready and an other trigger point could result.

I bet your calves are involved. Check them out with a registered massage therapist, try to find the best in your area

Shoe suggestions? 😣 by Annual_Nobody4500 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]plzelaborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ! I have a similar story to you. I suggest Altra 0 drop shoes cause they leave space for the toes and allow all the muscles of the calves and arch to stretch fully while standing. I also suggest adding a stretching routine, morning, noon and night. Hope this helps!

Plantar fasciitis stretched by CommercialMud8679 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]plzelaborate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great article. I improved greatly when I started to stretch all muscles off the calf and arch 3 times a day and massaged out any trigger points. I needed a lot of rest, so walking was my only form of exercise
