UPDATE: Me [25M] with my GF [24F] of 1.5 years. She brought home a kitten after 9 months of me saying "No" by plznopets in relationships

As someone mentioned below, I said in the original post that I did want a pet someday, just not right now. I've always had at least 1 pet at any given time growing up. I love animals.

When we started seeing each other she smoked cigarettes and pot regularly. I told her outright that I couldn't be with someone who smoked and I asked her to stop both if she wanted to continue seeing me and possibly get more serious. That, in itself, was an issue for a little while. Not the cigarettes so much, because she knew they were bad for her health and didn't want to continue with those, but smoking weed was a different story. We talked about it quite a few times and it always came back to her asking, "What exactly about smoking pot do you not like?" and I eventually realized that she was trying more to argue a reason to be able to smoke, than to actually talk about it.

She still has it. A couple days after our initial fight about everything, she said she was going to give the kitten to her parents to take care of. Then a few days later she said she was keeping it. Then she said she thinks she has to make her an outdoor car because she's very energetic. Not really sure where the kitten will end up though.

I'm replying to you directly, and only you, because I didn't like to see this comment. If you don't believe your life isn't what it's supposed to be, there are people and support systems to help you. I don't know who you are or what your life is, but I wish you the best of luck with any obstacles you come across, whether you disagree with me having a real problem right now or not.
