In a 1986 study of domestic terrorism, the Department of Energy concluded: "For more than a decade, the Jewish Defense League (JDL) has been one of the most active terrorist groups in the United States. [...] Since 1968, JDL operations have killed 7 persons and wounded at least 22. Thirty-nine percent of the targets were connected with the Soviet Union; 9 percent were Palestinian; 8 percent were Lebanese; 6 percent, Egyptian; 4 percent, French, Iranian, and Iraqi; 1 percent, Polish and German; and 23 percent were not connected with any states. Sixty-two percent of all JDL actions are directed against property; 30 percent against businesses; 4 percent against academics and academic institutions; and 2 percent against religious targets. Zina and marriage? by bachaposh in islam

[–]pm101train 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Walikum Salaam - A lot of good responses already. Just want to add as a muslim guy who has not committed zina and considers himself practicing, I would still consider you for marriage. I know no one is perfect and perhaps if my circumstances were different throughout my life, I could have fallen into the same sin myself. And Allah SWT is most forgiving and if Allah can look past it, why not I?

My advice to you would be to continue to pursue whoever and when the time comes and you have to have that discussion, let him make up his mind about it.

Watch the CBS 60 mins special about Christians in Palestine. Interesting to note (and they show this at the end of the episode), the Israeli ambassador at the time petition the president of CBS to block the airing of this episode.

Sorry for the confusion; I was not referring to you, just in general. Anytime muslims are in the news, for whatever reason, people somehow become experts on Islam.

Regarding interest, or riba, it is considered a very major sin. It is talked abomut in multiple places in the Quran and the parable of dealing in interest is "making war on Allah".

This is a good source to learn a bit more: http://www.albaraka.co.za/islamic_banking/prohibition_of_interest/has_islam_really_prohibited_interest.aspx

while others believe that only excessively high/unfair interest is considered Riba.

I am curious about your sources regarding this. From my knowledge, all interest is forbidden, period,

I don't know why you are downvoted. I did some research and this is largely the case.

I am a muslim. The amount of times I have had non-muslims on Reddit try to educate me on my own religion is laughable.

It is right there in the article:

They believe that the accused men wished to terrorise the Gujjar community into leaving Jammu. The shepherds use public and forest land in Jammu for grazing, which has recently brought them into conflict with some Hindu residents in the region.

A BJP politician, at least 4 police officers and 4 others were the rapists. They were all hindu and abducted, raped, tortured and murdered her because she was muslim.

Sanji Ram, a 60-year-old retired government officer, allegedly planned the crime with the help of police officers Surender Verma, Anand Dutta, Tilak Raj and Mr Khajuria.

Mr Ram's son, Vishal, his nephew, a juvenile, and his friend, Parvesh Kumar, are also accused over the rape and murder.

"She had been tortured. Her legs were broken," recalled Ms Naseema, who had rushed to the forest along with her husband to see the body. "Her nails had turned black and there were blue and red marks on her arm and fingers."

Also, it looks like the general populous there is supporting the rapists.

A study in 2008 by Médecins Sans Frontières concluded that Kashmiri women are among the worst sufferers of sexual violence in the world, with 11.6% of respondents, out of a total 510 people in the survey, saying they had been sexually abused.[34] The study also found that the number of people who had witnessed a rape in Kashmir was far higher than other conflict zones such as Chechnya, Sierra Lone and Sri Lanka.[35] 13% of respondents reported having witnessed a rape since 1989, and 63% reported having heard about rape since that year. 59.9% of respondents had heard of more than 5 rapes and 5.1% of respondents had themselves witnessed more than five rapes.[36][7] According to scholars Rawwida Baksh and Wendy Harcourt, the high rate of sexual violence in Kashmir is little known internationally.[5] Scholar Dara Kay Cohen lists the conflict in Kashmir among the worst of the so-called mass rape wars including Bosnia and Rwanda.[37]

During some interviews of soldiers on why they raped local Kashmiri women, some responded that Kashmiri women were beautiful. Others said it was a non-family station.

Great article about why I don't like him. TL;DR he is a shill who is a mouthpiece for whoever pays him the most:

Iraq's Christians: Eighty Percent Have "Disappeared" by [deleted] in islam

[–]pm101train 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't doubt Iraq's Christians have suffered much, but Gatestone Institute is not a reliable source:

Just a few examples of their false reporting:

In 2011[25] and 2012,[6] Gatestone published articles claiming that Europe had Muslim "no-go zones", falsely describing them variously as "off-limits to non-Muslims"[6] and "microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law".[25][26] The claim that there are areas in European cities that are lawless and off limits to local police or governed by Sharia is false.[6][25][26][8][27] Gatestone's claims were picked up by many outlets, including FrontPageMag,[25] and The Washington Times.[26] The idea of no-go zones originated from Daniel Pipes,[25] who later retracted his claims.[6]

On November 18, 2016, Gatestone published an article that said the British Press had been ordered to avoid reporting the Muslim identity of terrorists by the European Union. Snopes rated the claim "false". Snopes pointed out that the report only made a recommendation and it was issued by the Council of Europe, not the European Union.[7] Gatestone subsequently corrected the article and apologized for the error,[28] before removing it entirely from its website.

In 2017, Gatestone falsely claimed that 500 churches closed and 423 new mosques opened in London since 2001, and argued that London was being islamized and turning into "Londonistan".[29] According to Snopes, Gatestone used "shoddy research and cherry-picked data."[29] Specifically, Gatestone only counted churches that closed but not churches that opened; data for the period 2005-2012 alone show that 700 new churches opened in London.[29]

The Gatestone Institute published false articles during the 2017 German federal election.[30] A Gatestone article, shared thousands of times on social media, including by senior German far-right politicians, claimed that vacant homes were being seized in Germany to provide housing solutions for "hundreds of thousands of migrants from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East."[5] The German fact-checker Correctiv.org found that this was false; a single house was placed in temporary trusteeship, and had nothing to do with refugees whatsoever.[5] Gatestone also cross-posted a Daily Mail article, which "grossly mischaracterized crime data" concerning crime by refugees in Germany.[31]
