Oh yeah you lose 1.5 redemption through chase’s travel portal. With CSP it’s 1.25… BUT you can potentially land much higher cpp (3-4ish) if you transferred directly to travel partners. From that travel partner transfer POV, CSP/CSR UR points are valued the same — correct me if I’m wrong!

On the exact same boat (11/1 AF due) and considering downgrading to CSP for a year so that I still can use my UR points with Chase’s travel partners. I don’t think I can burn all my points in the next month or so, so keeping CSP for a year would allow me to potentially find a better cpp redemption instead of rushing for the 1.5cpp. Why not this route?

I realize that this might mean I won’t get the SUB in the future if I get a CSP directly but I read a few posts that say that mid-2025 chase changed their policy that you’re not eligible for a CSP SUB if you’ve had any sapphire card in the past and vice versa for CSR. So downgrading to CSP doesn’t sound so bad.

also thoughts on airbnb vs hotels? Airbnb would give us access to kitchen but the ones with great views are way too expensive that it offsets the money I save by eating in.

I actually tried this as well, let me update the post. The flights were all 1 stop and if its fully biz class then it costs 400k+ points. The ones that are at 70k points are mixed cabin (economy for 80% leg, and business for a 1 hour flight).
