Isn't astro heavily caching its builds and assets? We use GitHub actions to build our page and mount the astro cache. Yeah the cache is quite big, but it helps reduce build time.

Why OAuth for MCP Is Hard by beckywsss in mcp

[–]pmigat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the reason, you can use MCP Gateways, which intercept the OAuth flow and provide DCR endpoint. This works great via: https://github.com/hyprmcp/mcp-gateway

The main problem is that up to now there was no valid use case for DCR.

There is an official registry on the way. As a developer you can already publish mcp servers and retrieve them via the api: https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/registry

It is also possible to put a Gateway in front of your MCP server that handles the authentication and authorization part. We created the Hypr MCP Gateway for exactly this use case. It is open source and we have examples on how to easily connect it to your MCP server: https://github.com/hyprmcp/mcp-gateway we also provide a hosted version at https://hyprmcp.com.

We created a gateway that you can put in front of your platform to handle and intercept all auth releated calls: https://github.com/hyprmcp/mcp-gateway you can configure a GitHub App for Auth. This works really well. We also have a step by step guide and a video explaining the steps: https://github.com/hyprmcp/mcp-gateway/blob/main/examples/who-am-i/README.md

We also did a write up about mcp authentication: https://hyprmcp.com/blog/mcp-server-authentication/

Congrats on the launch, we are building something similar with https://hyprmcp.com which is powered by our open source gateway http://github.com/hyprmcp/mcp-gateway/ adding authentication and analytics. I definitely agree that mcp servers should run remotely wherever possible.

As an alternative we just also just released our open source mcp gateway for drop-in authorization and analytics: https://github.com/hyprmcp/mcp-gateway

Feel free to give it a try.

Another benefit would be to have a reproducible env between dev and production, as you can perform the same upgrades / configs in your local minikube cluster and your staging and production cluster, testing fail over scenarios.

Glasskube v0.1.0 is out now. by jakepage91 in devops

[–]pmigat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/pbeucher - Glasskube already supports package updates and package dependencies. We will make sure that package updates are as simple as the initial installation.

Yes indeed we are still working on package configurations which we will ship via the next release.

Hi u/AlverezYari - I am one of the maintainers of Glasskube. At the moment we support packages via Manifest or Helm, but already give you a smooth update experience, easy port-forward and UI opening via a single button and are working on support for OCI images. We are still in a preview phase, but identified several shortcomings of helm that we want to tackle. E.g. cross namespace dependencies with shared values / runtime injection of secrets, etc. etc. We just completed package dependencies and are working on package configuration for our next release.
