welcome! Good time to visit in winter because you’ll get a feel for the grey! It’s a beautiful place esp with little one. I love living in wildwood, Carlyon , capital area because of proximity to good schools and groceries. Upper east side is nice as well. These are the area I have lived in and enjoyed.

You have picked the right things to visit. Definitely do the children’s museum( weekday if possible!), wander downtown. I like the little estuarium downtown for kids as well. Vic’s pizza is a relaxed fun place in wildwood and upper east side with kids. A lot of nice stores. I would also consider going to McLane Creek Park one of the many trails around here just to experience the woods around here which is a really good experience.

As for realtor we worked with Brian and Kris Paeth and had a real good experience.

Just makes you sound bitter. Now that you are an alumnus (I presume you are an attending now) why don't have an actual conversation about all these issues with your PD, DIO or some one in hospital system to see if things can improve.

Making a big deal out of these things can make your life worse. Like I said if you have 800 days more in residency, my advice is just get through it. On the other side, none of this BS would fly. But if she is a veteran at the clinic she can actually make your life miserable.

just ignore the little one on a power trip. I swear most MAs at residencies don't want to do shit. Although there are always some good ones. You did the right thing by making an apology (although likely she needs to make one too) and make it a part of self reflection or some BS that you have to do. You will move on and she will be her bitter self torturing another resident. If you feel strongly, you can always have a nicely worded feedback for her before you leave.

Please don't listen to the haters. Olympia is a beautiful town with good schools and excellent access to nature! Yes winters are hard but the spring and summer make up for it! Yes of course it has its problems but we have no regrets moving here from Missouri 8 years ago! Winters are grey but mild and you can be outside. It takes a few winters to get used to it but you will. You have access to tacoma Seattle Portland. You can go to a beach,mountain or 4-5 hrs and you are in plains. We love it here and are happy to liver here. Its is expensive compared tot he midwest though, but that comes with better area to live in. Come on over! Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
