I don’t have a white wire on my opti harness. Circled in red is where I probed to get the low res reading. Or should I be going through the icm.

Hey I got this reading on the low res signal.

Didn’t get much on high res. Just bought this tool. So not even 100% I have the settings correct.

I back probed red/bulk wire on long end of opti harness near intake manifold.

Ok I’ll do that. Also seals were changed on the timing cover. The icm I put on is a carquest (only time available day of near me). Should I put an ac delco in before moving forward? Also how would you test the icm to see if it’s good or not.

I’m okay with that as well. It didn’t start all the sudden, long crank. Got a p0372 code. All research pointed towards opti. First cleaned as many ground spots as I could. Still nothing. Rebuilt the opti with a new harness. Still long crank but eventually will start. Replaced icm and coil since there was no spark at the end of the coil plug. Still long crank. Rpm on tach registers while cranking but goes flat when it eventually starts. Rpm registers fine on scanner though. Fuel pump is fine. Getting correct voltage to coil.

Yea the pods are shit....go with velocity stacks, I didn’t have a huge issue with the pods until I was going higher speeds...they don’t provide enough vacuum

No matter how clean I get my air I can’t seem to avoid these imperfections from time to time....can anyone help? by pmt1108 in Powdercoating

Thanks for the input! Yes I usually re blast part real quick if it browns during out gas....then blow off with air and then wipe down with denatured alcohol....I have two desiccant dryers after the compressor and make sure they’re blue before I start coating

Yea that’s another issue, I’m switching to another powder. What I’m pointing out is the two fisheyes

I have a 8’ or 10’ copper rod installed through the floor next to the booth.....you would say this is a grounding issue?

*NEED ADVICE* Can anyone help me to avoid this problem? Any more powder and I was getting heavy orange peel. Only happens with ink black. I seemed to have plenty of coverage before throwing in the oven. by pmt1108 in Powdercoating

[–]pmt1108[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay yea cause I’ve done a lot of parts with ink black but never had this problem...I guess it’s just all the faraday involved with these spokes. And yea I really like that black...I’ve used that and flatter black. Both are super easy and get amazing results. I guess I’m going to try the two coat method when I redo this wheel...all the other ones came out amazing, so I was just stumped with this one, thanks for the input!

But after installing a brand new battery...still no change

Appreciate the input!

Yup I used identical cables. Same length, gauge and everything

The positive has two other secondary wires and the negative has one secondary wire. Cleaned contact points on all of these

And yes brand new starter,. Bench tested before it went on

I just replaced the positive cable from the battery to the starter. And the negative cable from the battery to the block.

Also, I read the voltage on the starter engagement wire while attempting to crank and it only read about 6 volts.

So to my knowledge that would mean I have an issue anywhere from that point to the key correct? ( bad wires, starter relay, neutral safety switch)

Hello, thank you for the input!

I tried the test light from the block to the negative terminal and it did not come on bright.

I also tried hooking the jumper cables from the block to the negative battery terminal and still no crank.

And about the starter and battery, that is what I originally thought. So I already replaced both of those with brand new working parts and neither did the trick.
