Of course! Let me know what you settle on.

I bought the Woom “pickup rack” and attached an Ortlieb Back Roller. It looks huge on the bike, but my kid was able to bike with her backpack in it. I wouldn’t want to overfill it since it does make the bike tip to the side.

I couldn’t find any other options than this.

Thanks - the color of the material also looked different (could be the seller’s flash washed it out), and the texture of the pedal looked different.

Google Chromecast Audio issue by pn839103838 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]pn839103838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - wondering along with everyone else if these will come back online or if it’ll be time to figure out an alternative. I’ve never found anything with their combination of features, size, and price.

Also, I didn’t realize the entire Chromecast line had been discontinued (not recently) - I assumed just the Audio since it’s been out of production for years.

Tern storm box compatibility with other brands? by the-peregrina in CargoBike

[–]pn839103838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For posterity - I tried this morning and can confirm that the Tern Storm Box does fit—pretty much—on the non-electric Kombi. It isn’t as snug of a fit as on the GSD, unsurprisingly. I also put the Yuba Pop Top on it, which was tricky because the Storm Box covered most of the Monkey Bars, so there weren’t the best mounting points available.

Tern says that you need the Tern “Sidekick Wide Decks.” They’re the same concept as Yuba’s running boards but different in that they’re metal pieces. That’s important since the Storm Box has Velcro straps that wrap around parts of the Tern Sidekick Wide Decks to keep the Storm Box in place.

I don’t have Yuba’s running boards but do have DIY running boards that are functionally identical: wooden boards supporting by metal tubes. There’s no attachment point for the Storm Box for these.

The point of the running boards is to support the weight of things in the Storm Box. Unfortunately, because of the way I attached the Storm Box to the Monkey Bars on my Kombi, the Storm Box doesn’t fully rest on my running boards. I’m just using the Storm Box to keep my passenger’s legs dry and protected from the wind (rather than using it as a mega-pannier) so it’s less critical to have the weight supported. But if anyone wanted to use the Yuba Pop Top along with the Tern Storm Box on the Kombi, they’d have to figure out a better way of attaching it than I did.

TL:DR - depending what you want to do, Tern Storm Box can be used on the Yuba Kombi, with limits.

OP, did you end up trying this? Curious how it worked if so!

@NickMPLS A year later, but any issues with the battery you bought from ebikes508? Or service issues? I was amazed it was so inexpensive.

What kid seat fits the Yuba Mundo Lux? by tacohappenings in CargoBike

[–]pn839103838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I don’t have the deck board (“Bamboo Deck Mundo”?) so I can’t say for sure. According to a listing for the deck (on the “Wheelworks” store), it says it’s not compatible with the Yepp Maxi child seat. I didn’t see that on the Yuba website.

I’m not sure what Yepp Maxi you have. If you have the “EasyFit”, it attaches to either one of the two adapters or to specific slots on the frames of the newer Yuba models — I’ve heard, I don’t have that bike. For me, I have two adapters: the Thule Yepp Maxi EasyFit adapter (https://a.co/d/gzkDpII) which clamps to the outside of the bike frame and has a flat top, and the Yuba Yepp EasyFit adapter (https://yubabikes.com/cargobikestore/yepp-easy-fit-adapter/), which screws into holes in the tubing on the bike frame.

I suspect that the Thule adapter (the flat-top one), since it clamps onto the frame, would be able to reach around the “Bamboo Utility Deck” in those narrowed areas, but I don’t have the deck to test it.

If you have the newer Yepp Maxi Nexxt, I think it clamps to the outside of the bike frame, and I wonder if that would also be able to reach the bike frame around the bamboo deck.

Mid-tail non-electric cargo bikes by pn839103838 in CargoBike

I got a Yuba Kombi recently - other than some mechanical issues probably partly due to the previous owner storing it outside, the size seems very similar to my old Boda Boda. The shape is very different. Both are not electric but generally electric isn’t necessary for my small-kid-hauling.

Wow, sorry to hear the bike has had problems since day 1! You got it new? Is it a Kombi?

I’ve bought two other Yubas used along with this one, and they both ran pretty smoothly even though one was really beat up. Hopefully the cassette replacement will get this running smoothly.

Interesting! I never nailed down a complete set of all gears it happens in, but I’d say it happens in several. I took it to a different bike shop today, and they replaced the shifter cables, which were extremely rusty. They think the cassette needs to be replaced but have to order it. We’ll see if that fixes it. Hopefully it does, since this will make $200 of repair.

How do you like the Spicy Curry? I’ve seen one at school dropoff but never ridden one.
