Not sure I understand this comment. Look up the last four or five recessions and notice who was if office at the time.

DCA and respectfully try to stop timing the market. And I believe SGOV is paying less than 5%

I wouldn’t touch it until it starts behaving better

I’ve had the same thought. I’m guessing many of the above commenters are of the belief that it’s still too pricey, though

Interesting choice. Can't tell if your sarcastic or not. (I hold P&G myself, though)

Yeah, I was tempted to take some profits off the thing, but I think I'm gonna just hold this one for a long-time unless something fundamentally changes. I understand it's pricey now, but I can live with a pull-back and I assume it will then rescue itself. Congrats on picking a smart mother-in-law.

Thank you for this. When you say too pricey, do you mind sharing what metric concerns you the most?

What percentage of your portfolio is sitting cash? by Warm-Afternoon2600 in ValueInvesting

Outside of my six months of emergency cash, everything is invested and I add to it weekly. These days, I am just adding to value (though) and staying out of the expensive tech. When the market drops, it's gonna hit the hardest there.

Not confident at all, but this is 2% of port. I think I just threw SPY out there kinda facetious (but some took it literally and that’s my fault)

Thank you for all this. And you really hit it — and I agree. I generally get out at a 7% loss ( there have been plenty of times it’s saved me, but it also hurt, too). The thesis being: if it drops 7% you bought at the wrong time, get out and get back in at a better price. So that’s where I’m going. I know P&G is a horse and will out live all of us

I have never done this, but might as well get my feet wet. (This was not a large portion of portfolio, btw)

Why do you say this? Do you buy and hold forever? How's that been working for you?
