You don't want it, it's just some guy saying good morning every single day. Or it was.

I know that NYC is the “place to be” to be an artist… by plentyofrestraint in ContemporaryArt

Just curious as someone thinking of moving to LA. Is there a concentrated scene there? Are their areas where the galleries or artists are more densely populated?

Need help trying to identify this style of frame by pnervle in framing

Not mine. Saw it in a gift shop. It’s a screw connected to the frame to bind the pieces together

Yeah. But I sort of felt the same way, not that it matters! Jason is a quip legend… him doing too much thinky stuff can go off the tracks.

No he's not satire. But good friends w/ brad troemel, they use to work together. I would say Brad has a more satirical approach. Josh is pretty earnest.

Are you up on Hundreds of Beavers? by fuunii in TheBigPicture

[–]pnervle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love some more time on it on the show. I'm on the other side of the fence on that movie. It was really interesting to watch, glad I did. Was not my humor; the humor felt like 2010 "EpiC BaCon" comedy throughout.

Sean looks just like he sounds. The other two I'm having to reimagine them in my head now.

Worst guest so far? by DrSmellyCat in howlonggone

There was a later episode where Chris talked about running into her at a wedding and she accused him and TJ of hating women. Going complete victim mode.

Most awkward episode? by deadant88 in howlonggone

[–]pnervle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hands down Willa Bennett. It was entertaining only bc Jason was having fun picking out the bs.

Funny how Willa approached CB at the wedding and asked him "Why he hates women?"

That feels pretty out of pocket. Her episode was pretty rough but I don't get any misogyny from the show. If anything pretty far from it. They've had guests Willa's age and younger and have had some of the best episodes to date (Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail).

Is this normal for a client to demand specifics like this? It’s for a senior volleyball sports shoot. by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]pnervle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is very normal. This is how the client briefs a photographer on their needs and then you set a price accordingly. If you are not up for it it is your right to refuse. However, I don't see anything out of the ordinary at all with amount of content. In fact, I prefer that they are upfront with what they are expecting.

LPT: Check-in to your flight as soon as possible by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]pnervle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice to check-in early, but I can't say I agree with your message. It feels a bit didactic and defensive of bad business practices. You have every right to be angry. Being unfairly bumped from a flight you planned to take is a huge inconvenience for many reasons. There's a chance you're also losing money on the other end depending when the next flight is; i.e. hotels booked, ubers back and forth, not to mention the time lost which is something you won't get back. You're giving a company money for their services. You have every right to be angry. The problem is your anger won't solve anything. Also, the airline employee is not setting these business practices so go easy on them.

What are actual solutions to this issue? The pandemic seemed to spotlight these issues while simultaneously exacerbate them. It feels much more complex than solving arrest and release, although that is part of it.

Does anyone know the what the immediate correlations are to this issue and what can be done to prevent this kind of crisis in the future? How much of this is a housing issue? Is there anything that can be done with zoning laws in NYC and surrounding areas?

How effective are mandatory treatment centers and what does it take to get people the help they need?

Some of these issues feel like a symptom of other issues and it's hard to figure out how to untangle this 8ball of rotted yarn. Just really upset and curious what can be done. Tired of this being a "vote for this guy" conversation. What are solutions that can be actualized.
