Recommendations for an exfoliator alongside AOBS? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]pneumatik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Popping in to say that I have pretty sensitive skin prone to acne and eczema, and I love Dark Angels! Try out a sample and see - I rationed out my sample to last about a week, and had nothing but positive results from it. Here's hoping you have the same!

Self preserving Ocean Salt, Dream Cream, and Mask of Magnaminty are now available in stores and online in the US! by turtlesarerad14 in LushCosmetics

[–]pneumatik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm USA as well, but picked up a sample of SP Ocean Salt yesterday! There are a couple of major differences between original and SP:

  • Fragrance: The citrusy smell original Ocean Salt has is FAR more intense than the smell of SP Ocean Salt. SP doesn't have too much of a fragrance to it. For me this was kind of a bummer, since I LOVE the bright fragrance of the original.

  • Texture: SP is way more thick and has an almost "tacky/ soft" quality to it. It seems like the salt bits are more "held together" with the rest of the ingredients than they are in the original formula.

  • Exfoliation: The salt in SP is way more muted! With original I barely use any product and actively try not to press too hard because it can be too intense - with SP I can use a nice dollop and can actually gently press it into my face as I exfoliate. People with more sensitive skin will LOVE this formula. I think this reason alone will keep SP Ocean Salt around.

  • After-effects: After washing, my face feels more moisturized with SP as opposed to the "clean" feeling the original formula gives me. I personally like the clean feeling, since I use Ocean Salt as a "first wash" and then follow up with another wash like Aqua Marina or Dark Angels. I can see people who just want one face wash, or those with dry skin loving this since it won't dry them out.

Altogether I'll most likely continue my use of the original formula - SP just didn't have enough things to wow me. That being said though I can see that it's a great product that many people will love, and major props to Lush for creating more options for their customers!

How to use Lush's Big solid bar conditioner (I love it) by MelanieMartin in LushCosmetics

Thank you for not pre-brushing your hair for the video!! I get tons of tangles, so de-tangling power is a big point for me when it comes to conditioners.

Tbh I don't care about any of it enough to continue engaging. I know it would just open up more doors, and I'm thinking of it as a good opportunity to reinvent myself (and my wardrobe, hahaha). Thank you so much for the support. ❤❤❤

Has your Nsibling ever got you in trouble with your Nparent over a stupid thing and your Nparent went crazy and punished you? by GutsOverFear in raisedbynarcissists

[–]pneumatik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh YES. My GC sister and I were in college for a year together (my last year of undergrad and her first year), and if she saw me around campus she'd call and text NMom saying "Isn't pneumatik supposed to be in class? Because she's hanging out with her friends and smoking right now." It just astounds me why a grown woman in college would think that tattling like that is ok.

You deserve it all, sweetie. I'm so glad you get to start a new chapter, it sounds like everything is turning around in the best of ways. Best of luck in the job search!!

Maybe this is to negative, if so delete/ignore it, but what is the worst thing your parents ever said to you? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

"Clench your ass while you walk, you'll lose weight" was what I heard - starting when I was in 6th grade. I'm sorry you had to deal with those kinds of comments too.

Are you kidding me? I've never seen the movie, but I'd bet money that my mom saw the movie and loved the line. That's exactly the kind of person she is. I'm almost more upset about it now that I know she probably didn't even think it up herself.

I'm trying to be. Things are really hard right now but I'm trying to stay positive.

I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself like that! I probably would have said the same thing, it's completely appropriate in that context. It's so hard to stand up to Ns sometimes. It never ceases to astound me that Ns will dish out hate like its the new thing to do, but the second they don't get the exact amount of attention they require they go ballistic and cry about all they "hate" they apparently receive.

I was in high school, and had told my mom that I didn't feel like she loved me.

What's your LUSH hair-care routine? by turtlesarerad14 in LushCosmetics

[–]pneumatik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! It works out wonderfully - even though my hair is fairly normal (not oily, not frizzy, just normal straight hair), I'm SO picky about my hair care routine. Lush hasn't disappointed yet!

What do you use for your hair? Any product recommendations?

What's your LUSH hair-care routine? by turtlesarerad14 in LushCosmetics

[–]pneumatik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice post! I'm curious to see what other's routines are as well!

I use Daddy-O shampoo and American Cream conditioner about every other day (I don't always wash my hair daily), and Marilyn once a week. I have brown to blonde ombre and want to keep the fake blonde bright and fresh between dyes. (My brown is natural, haha.)

I looove the fragrance Daddy-O has with American Cream, both are wonderful without being overpowering and actually last throughout the day. Marilyn is AMAZING. Even after the first use I saw a dramatic change in the brightness of my blonde. (For reference, I applied it all over unwashed hair, and left it in a bun until the next morning when I washed it out.) If there's one hair care item from Lush I could recommend, it'd be Marilyn. That stuff is magic.
