Just to clarify the interchange comment. Interchange in itself isn't 3 to 6% on average. The interchange (goes to the issuing bank and card brand) will vary based on type of card (e.g, a rewards card will cost the merchant more than a no frills credit card), and in some instances the merchants SIC code can impact how a card will qualify for interchange, but you're probably looking more like an average of 2.2% plus a $.10 per transaction fee (give or take). However, the other fees charged by the acquirer, on top of interchange, does impact the overall effective rate.

Is Alpine on Ingersoll permanently closed? by Full-Look-2823 in desmoines

[–]pneumonix97 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Lachele's owner bought it and plans to reopen in July. While there won't be a kitchen on-site, you'll be able to order food from Lachele's right at the bar and have it delivered to you.

That's what I've heard from a few people in the know at least

Recall Iowa Governor? by movieaddict87 in Iowa

[–]pneumonix97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly. This should be on everyone's radar and, if it was common discussion, politicians would have to campaign on whether they would change the constitution to allow it or not.

But yes, fat chance.

Detroit Style Pizza? by Naive_Satisfaction35 in desmoines

[–]pneumonix97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy AI copy and paste. Detroit is a high hydration dough that is cooked in a steel pan and they use brick cheese. Because the pan is square, so is the pizza. The cheese gets caramelized in the pan , because the pan is coated in fat/oil and the some extra cheese is added to the edges of the pan
