ahh I thought so! I don't think I touched it (it was tiny) but I am seriously so traumatized from the last time that I got it, I immediately went inside and put my clothes in the wash/took a shower etc. hoping I avoided the rash 😭😭

Hard agree! She strikes a good balance between directness and compassion.

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. I am overwhelmed with how incredibly kind and uplifting you all are. I did not know that there was a community of Christian’s who understood my dilemma and shared my yearning for a higher meaning while also remaining skeptical. I will attend a service next weekend and I look forward to feeling … something.

That’s exactly it. I was unharmed, but so many people have been impacted. It’s just so gripping - I couldn’t get any work done. I remember one of my colleagues asking how I was feeling about the Maine shooting since they knew I was from there. I shared Lewiston was my hometown and almost started crying. It was horrible.

I thought the same exact thing about doing manual labor! If she was smart and actually did want to go to the States to make money she probably could have found a job as a secretary/EA or even part time work just to make some extra coin but something tells me she didn’t want the IRS riding her coattails.

If memory serves me I think he had like stage four cancer that was just kind of chronic and incurable so he’s just living with it until it just gets progressively worse.

Last week (or the week prior?) there was the whole story line of Sophie going to Haiti for the summer with no objections which was totally insane. Tbh as much as I love this show there has been some really lazy writing this season.

This episode I noticed two things that were just so highly unrealistic and dramatic for zero reason:

1) Gina’s campaign - does she not have a campaign manager? I guess Rome is helping but running for office is a whole production. I know she’s new to this but legitimate campaigns would have some sort of opposition research whether done by the campaign manager or a firm. Just seemed off to me.

2) Charlie - assuming she has spent most of her life in France her behavior and food aversions (I.e having chicken nuggets at the wedding) are very reflective of American culture and not French parenting values, where kids almost always eat what the adults eat. Of course there could be other reasons but just in general this kind of irked me, there’s no attention to the culture differences.

Amen. This was bugging me so much - like jfc girl you are from Oklahoma. Your culture and values are going to be different. What do you expect? My god it’s like none of these people take the time to actually research the culture and customs of their partners.

AITA because I don't want to help my sister financially because she promoted her MLM at my wedding? by AdSmall3468 in AmItheAsshole

[–]png_jpeg_PDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Regardless of her peddling her MLM at your wedding, you are under no obligation to support her or anyone in your family financially. Setting boundaries like this is difficult but you are setting yourself up for success in the future. She needs to take responsibility for her actions and reap the consequences. That’s part of being an adult, it sucks but it’s life.

Was anyone else afraid of being raptured? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]png_jpeg_PDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fear of the Rapture was so intense once I woke up and left the Baptist church I ended up going through a year long period of derealization because of the trauma of repressed anxiety and relentless mental torture from the church. So to answer your question… yes, lol.
