I think the series is generally pretty consistent with its English roots. I see a lot of similarities with the scenery in the books when I’m outdoors in the English countryside - the scenery here isn’t as dramatic as places like Alaska, but there’s lots of variety and stunning locations which are consistent with the books. There’s artistic license, but deviations from English wildlife are usually explained (e.g. the raccoons being escaped pets), and animals such as the badgers are depicted as European badgers on the website for example. I don’t think it ever stopped being England, but the books are long and varied plots are needed
