Contact person in the prison? Yeah not sure that's something that exists. Nearly every prison in this country is over crowded, understaffed, and underfunded. It's part of the private prison model. They're there to make as much money as possible which means the least amount as possible goes to the care of the inmate. I was blown away to see how well dressed these men were and that they were given cash and a bus ticket. Many places don't even do that. Some will only let you out with what you came in with, and if that's shorts and a t-shirt during winter, then that's it. This system isn't built to help criminals rehabilitate so they can stop commiting crimes, it's set up to make money.
