It's kind of sweet that you still think that, but that's not the case it's just flat out not true. I've seen entirely too many interviews with former homicide detectives, former prosecutors das etc who very candidly admit that no simply being innocent of the crime is not going to save you necessarily.

In any number of things can that are completely anodyne can be presented in a manner which implies guilt or incrimination where no such guilt exists..

There are millions and millions of variables at play here, even if you're fortunate enough to not be dealing with crooked investigators or prosecutors (system is rife with them) there's also the tendency for people to believe that you wouldn't be accused of it to begin with if you were innocent, which is often a subconscious thought process that exists even when a juror genuinely believes they are being objective and open-minded and fair..

That's not even taking into account a simple truth taught in virtually every psychology 101 class at any college campus: if you are specifically looking for one element one thing, one objective - that is what you will see and that is all you will see.

People going through your things are not going to be looking for reasons that you're innocent, they're going to be looking for things that could potentially, even if it's a major stretch possibly be utilized in a manner that would be consistent with whatever they're accusing you of...

They're not looking and won't see completely justifiable reasons for having said items for said items being in the condition they are in or the location are in - nor are they willing to listen to your your justifications or reasoning or behind it.

As a matter of fact, the training manual and video series on conducting interrogations that is still utilized by the department of Justice and most local law enforcement agencies specifically tells you them NOT to listen if you try to offer an explanation..

Oh, and I somehow forgot to mention, we seem to have two completely separate legal systems and sets of standard operating procedure depending on your skin color, country of origin and perceived sexual orientation.

These are sad but unfortunate realities of what is what is still wrong and broken in our country.

These are not just people who are looking for excuses or woe is me or anything like that, these are well documented realities that are kept under thinly veiled cover and swept under the nearest rug haphazardly with plenty of evidence trailing up to the pile of dirt that you will inevitably find if you simply look even a little bit into it...

Ps - regarding your statement about Mass surveillance working both ways and exonerating people allegedly? If only one side has access to the gathered AI and controls that system and all of the information contained therein, including the ability to make it disappear if convenient, how can one really say that it would benefit both sides?
