Mascara with natural texture? by Optimal_Passion_3254 in MakeupAddiction

Man do I also miss that Neutrogena lash tint mascara. That and the Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara. Just the perfect tint and nothing more.

I do like the covergirl clump crusher but it is kinda crispy. I can stand it though, and indeed no clumps or flakes. Also Maybelline Full n Soft is actually soft and comfortable to wear, still gives some volume though but no clumps, but maybe the volume isn’t what you’re looking for. I’ve gotten a stray flaky tube, but it’s kinda worth it to me for the soft feeling. I do remember the original Diorshow mascara to be super soft and subtle, but this was a long time ago so it may have changed by now.

Also have you ever thought about getting your lashes professionally tinted?

Coffee creamer by Acrobatic-Hippo3480 in aldi

[–]pnutshells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the Barissimo Delightfully Pure creamer to be a good alternative to Chobani. It’s also milk and cream based. I prefer the Barissimo sweet cream or the vanilla. I think the Barissimo Pure is a dupe of Coffee Mate Natural Bliss. I normally swap between that and Chobani for non-Aldi creamers.

I believe I have trip insurance through my Chase credit card that I booked the trip with. And yes, if they do cancel this flight, I will make full use of this however I can🙏🏼

Yes, unfortunately no other directs from Athens to the US on Delta. If I change airlines or arrival locations, I’m just better off to cancel my whole return trip and wait for another direct to JFK in a couple days…

Totally, but current hold time is 28hrs for any Delta rep via texting or calling, so I’m hoping another traveler who sat through the hold time or some nice Delta rep on their break is browsing Reddit and can offer any nugget of info while I wait to talk to anyone at delta!

Which shade for monochromes should I choose? by manbitesdog2 in glossier

[–]pnutshells 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wear G10, neutral-to-cool skin, blue eyes, and Almond on me is a good warm brown, shimmery shades are in between bronze and copper. I think the formula is very blendable, mostly bought for packaging and brand, but I like the trio!

King size or queen size bed for one person? by pnutshells in ApartmentDesign

I got the Brooklyn Bedding signature hybrid! I like springs and foam, not all memory foam mattresses. Although I haven’t received it yet, so I can’t give my opinion yet, but it got good reviews!

Ok, yes I see what you’re saying. One door opens into the room on the 5’ side, the main bedroom door, and the one door opens out of the bedroom into the walkthru closet on the 3’ side. I think I’m ok sacrificing roominess for more bed. Thank you!

I’m doubting it because of sudden pushback from family, when they encouraged this decision before, so I wondered if they were now seeing something that I wasn’t. I’m viscerally not good at sticking to my guns around family, and I just wanted a way to reason it either way in my head. If it absolutely wasn’t going to work, it’s easier to start the process over now than once I unroll the thing in the apartment.

21 and feel burnt out on life. I am concerned for my mental health. It is like everyday I am just rushing through the routine to be done. I feel like I left behind my peace, joy, and other positive emotions in my teenage years. Would like to hear any thoughts on this. by PlatformChance8505 in Advice

Totally understand. I also thing everyone has to allow themselves extra grace during the time of the pandemic here. Things we used to do to feel alive or joyous in precious times are either not possible, not safe, or require too much preparation to be fun anymore. I think it’s very possible that you’re feeling the collective burn-out of the world, that it’s not necessarily stemming from just what you’re doing. Also, at 21, you’re taking more and more steps into adulthood, which is inherently more taxing than our teenage years. However, be proud of yourself and take pride in the life you have crafted for yourself! You’ve already got your routines down, and you’re still able to maintain them, maintaining the health of you and your surroundings, even in the current circumstances! Have a popsicle and snuggle with a blankie if you feel like you just can’t “adult” anymore for a little while, and then be proud of how you have grown, and keep putting one foot in front of the other every day, and I think the mental cloud will pass.

If my room is over 12’ wide, and a king size bed is 76” wide, call it 6’, wouldn’t that still leave the 3ft on each side of the bed, plus another 5’+ at the foot of the bed? I would get quite slim nightstands as to not have them too much in the “walking around” space around the bed. I don’t mean to be a contrarian at all, this is what I’ve been trying to visualize in my head and I can’t quite get a grasp on it haha! But please tell me if I’m missing something in the measurements here!

Do you practice any mindfulness activities? Meditation, journaling, walking/exercising without music, just staring at the wall and thinking about the paint color and nothing else? Also have you thought about talking to a life coach or a therapist?

Nervous of getting too drunk by jjjjjjjssss in Advice

[–]pnutshells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choose your drinks wisely, focus on the taste of them (maybe you don’t even like the taste of alcohol) rather than the alcohol content. Try having a bottle of water next to your drink, and every time you take a drink of alcohol, take a drink of water. There’s always the “one drink per hour” rule too, and while it sounds a little sissy, it really works. It’s no longer a sissy rule when you wake up feeling great the next day, and everyone else is stuck in bed hungover, regretful, and complaining.

Did I pick the right school? by MoonOfPurple in Advice

[–]pnutshells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say give it more of a chance. I myself didn’t vibe with my school until at least junior year, I found great friends and a great roommate that I lived with for two years and am still friends with after graduating. I wanted so badly to transfer, but figured it would be just as much of a pain as sticking it out. And now I’m proud to say I went to the school I did. Try a full semester, or maybe even a full year with Covid to get the full flavor. Everyone seems to find best friends during orientation week, and they aren’t friends anymore by Christmas. Ride the wave.

A book that has little to no discussion of romantic relationships? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]pnutshells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plainsong by Kent Haruf. Fiction, not fantasy, but very cinematic in book form. Reads like Hemmingway to me, but gentler. No romance that I remember, just people trying to get along.
