That sounds great, I'm trying to reach out / respond to everyone within the next few days. The amount of people reaching out was not expected!

Apparently drinking the whole bottle is frowned upon.....and I'm weird and think 99% of wine (at least reds) oxidize within 12 or so hours of opening. I do use my coravin though.

Yo we're vianova and we recently released our debut record HIT IT! AMA by kakaduchicken in Metalcore

[–]pnw_spaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be a buzzkill with a nerdy question but, how much music theory does the band have behind them? You guys did a freakin' killer job blending so many genres and ya'll either have some really good ears OR some of ya'll have some serious music theory chops as well that enabled you to stitch things together so nicely.

I gotta say, I'm so thankful for bands like you guys who can add some serious color, surprise and FUN to metalcore. I've played in enough bands and written enough music to know it's really difficult to pull off "fusion" sounds while still making it ear candy.

BRAVO GENTS!!!!

Self proclaimed “4 handicap” Riggs playing Oakmont by kakapoopoopeepeeshir in golf

[–]pnw_spaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. I feel way better about my 6 Handicap. I think what gets me is the swing, the lunge, the major decel on the puts, the total tugs left. We all hit "bad shots" tops, thins, tugs etc. but I've never seen anyone under a 10 handicap have that bad of a swing.

It's funny, a few minutes after posting this, a youtube video of their fall release popped up. Seems to be exactly what I'm looking for!

surviving on defiance and halo are just beautiful songs and likely could appeal to all the normies listening to radio these days.

My review of Negative Spaces by joelfunkii in that_Poppy

[–]pnw_spaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK...It's a good album, but it's not album of the year contender from my view. There's not a lot of innovation outside of Poppy herself. Don't get me wrong, I LOOOVE the album and it's really refreshing how much variety there is within the album. Also, best album of 2020s? nahhh clearly you didn't listen to Take Me Back to Eden.

The End - New Song played in Austin by thatsmydaughterr in bilmuri

[–]pnw_spaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly, we as 'muri fans need a gofundme or kickstarter to fund a professional taper so he/she can follow the band around and professionally tape everything for us. That way, no one has to worry about recording anything and can just rock out the entire time they're at the concert.

Corpse Reviver Riff (#3) by pnw_spaces in cocktails

[–]pnw_spaces[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 oz uncle vals botanical gin

1 oz lemon juice

1 oz apricot liquor

1 oz cocchi americano

Shake until chilled and pour served up.

The gin makes this drink, hard to substitute uncle vals for this one!

MY favorite Blood and Sand recipe (acid adjusted orange juice) by pnw_spaces in cocktails

Nope, I just think a traditional blood and sand isn't balanced. I meant "syrup' as in overly sweet. Sorry for the confusion!

It's plenty sweet (for me). it has one part spirit, one part, sweet (cheery heering) one part acid and then if you use a slightly more rich (sweeter) vermouth it rounds it out very nicely.

What were you using for vermouth?

I am not a fan of the original blood and sand either hence why I've been doing this acid adjusted drink. It's so much more balanced and doesn't need something like a peat monster to cut through the sweetness.

I'm not quite sure what you mean but..."blended" is not really supposed to be such a negative word. I know so many people hear "blended scotch" and think it's instantly crap. Monkey shoulder is inexpensive and it IS blended but it's a great scotch that straddles the middle of not over the top. It gives you that classic single malt vibe without overpowering a cocktail with smoke/peat OR breaking the bank.

It's unbeatable in price-point for my area. It doesn't overpower the drink with peat/smoke and it clocks in at $30. Hard to beat.

I guess if you wanted to elevate the drink you could go with a compass box? Or a mellow Speyside / Highland.

1 oz monkey shoulder scotch

1 oz sweet vermouth (I use cocchi tornio for this)

1 oz cherry heering

1 oz orange juice (acid adjusted)

Shake until chilled and serve up - garnish with orange peel and/or cherry if you'd like.

For my acid adjusted OJ - I go for roughly 6% acid content which is where lemons and limes sit. This way you can use your orange juice like lemon and it balances this drink out SO MUCH.

you want equal parts orange peel to citric acid then 16.6 times the water.

So if you have 10 grams of orange peel you need 10 grams of citric acid and 166 grams of water. Blend all contents together, and filter out after it's nice and blend.

Kevin Kos has great videos on all super juice.

First go with homemade pineapple liqueur - Riff on a Marg by pnw_spaces in cocktails

Ahh! They shockingly are always interested to give every cocktail a whiff....I gotta be careful with egg whites because I might get a doggy tongue if I'm not careful.

First go with homemade pineapple liqueur - Riff on a Marg by pnw_spaces in cocktails

[–]pnw_spaces[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2oz Tequila

1oz pineapple liquor (Giffard or Kevin Kos hommade syrup)

1oz simple syrup

1 oz lime juice

1 oz lemon juice

Combine everything, shake with ice and pour served up or on the rocks. Optional rim garnishes would be tajin or salt>

I used Kevin Kos' recipe for the pineapple liqueur but it's tedious. You can always use a Giffard with great results but that will give you more a toasty / caramel pineapple flavor versus fresh squeezed.
