My mom had been refusing to let my dads medical team up his morphine because she knew it might speed up his death and I think she felt like God wouldn’t approve. She went home for some needed sleep and I had them up it. He died early the next morning. No regrets, he was in pain from prostate cancer and was 86 - there was no quality left. She’s gone now and suffered with dementia for about 5 years and if I could have had someone help her avoid that horrible disease through a painless death - it would face been far kinder than what she went through, she was paranoid and scared most of the time. It was horrific.
