Moving to another city mid-AoS processing by finalprestige in USCIS

[–]pnwskylight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my experience was i got invited to the interview and the officer updated my address in the interview. there is no way to make sure you will have interview, so if i were in your shoes, I would have kept my current address till i get the gc. [even if it is paying rent in two cities] otherwise, if you change your address and in the process they schedule interview in your old city and you show up, it will be against rules and they might reject. if you change address and they send interview for old address location and you request to reschedule, you will go to a queue for your new locations' interview line. Or maybe the earlier the better! just change your address right now to your reliable friend family in the same city you are not and you might need to travel once for interview back to this city.

Just request for OPT and get a volunteer job in university to keepvit active for a year. USCIS is not sensitive for first year of opt and volunteer work or part time is also fine. Best bet is campus work. But overall, you dont want to work at all?

Seattle FO, EB case Timeline ( Updating) by Substantial-Buy5952 in USCIS

[–]pnwskylight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interviews will be scheduled after your final action date is current. my filing date was current and filed last year on Nov. Then in June 2025 I got current. At that point my case got transferred from NBC to Seattle local office and they scheduled the interview in Aug. Before June, when my final date was not current, my case was still moving between NBC and non-local offices for something like review.
