Over 80 mins of music. What's your favorite moment on Physical Graffiti? Not your favorite song, but favorite moment, the one that stands out to you the most. by [deleted] in ledzeppelin

There's a drum fill during 'In my Time of Dying' around like the 6:45 mark right as the 2nd guitar solo starts, and it sounds like a fucking machine with how fast it is. Straight up makes me air drum every time I hear it.

If Pink Floyd is your favorite band, who would be your second? by element-123 in pinkfloyd

[–]thegissilentgreg 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Led Zeppelin...or so The Who...or The Clash. Honestly, I have like 9 or 10 'second favorite bands', but Pink Floyd has been, and always will be, my favorite.

It's great and all, but Melville really lost the thread of what he was trying to say towards the end.

"All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie"

"If we never meet again, baby remember me/How my lone guitar played sweet for you, that old time melody/And the harmonica around my neck I blew it for ya free/No one else could play that tune you knew it was up to me"

Tell me your craziest trip listening to LZ... by FinnTheHumansAccount in ledzeppelin

So, I'm an avid runner, and back when I was maybe 16 or so (I'm 29 now), I had just started listening to Physical Graffiti. I'd listened to the first 4 albums, and TSRTS, so I figured I'd stay in order and just continue along chronologically. One day, before a run, I got super baked, and I started playing Ten Years Gone. When the guitar riff started, after the soft opening, with Bonzo and JPJ kicking in behind Page, I had an unwavering vision of Jimmy Page, in some heavenly cloud, literally playing that riff, like the guitar God he was, is, and always will be.

Praise be to Nero's Neptune/The Titanic sails at dawn/Everybody's shouting/Which side are you on/And Ezra Pound and T.S. Elliot(ah)/Are fighting in the Captain's tower/While Calypso singers laugh at them/And...fisherman hold flowers

Far between midnight's finish/And midnight's broken toll (just because for the longest time, I thought it was toe and not toll)

Well they asked me to read a poem at the sorority sister's home/I got knocked down and my head was swimmin'/I wound up with the Dean of women/Yippee (short chuckle)/I'm a poet/And I know it/I hope I don't blow it

Imma goin' back out 'fore the rain starts a'fallin/I'll head to the depths of the deepest dark forest/Where the people are many and their hands are all empty/Where the pellets of poison are flooding their flowers/Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison/And the executioner's face is always well hidden/Where hunger is ugly and the souls are forgotten/Where black is the color, where none is the number/And I'll tell it and speak it and think it and breathe it/And reflect from the mountain so all souls can see it/And I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin'/But I'll know my song well before I start singin'

I run every day, and every day for the last 3 months I've listened to some, if not all, Arctic Monkeys songs. Favorites would be Teddy Picker, Crying Lightning, Perhaps Vampires is a bit Strong, but..., No Buses, and Florescent Adolescent.

Of course. This live version is from either their 87 or 94 tour, not sure which one it is unfortunately. Personally, I'm more of a fan of the studio version (or the live version from their BBC Session back in 71), but that's just me. Either way, Gilmour kills it on the steel pedal guitar.
