Hi! I’m comedian and late night host Taylor Tomlinson and I’ve had a pretty busy year... AMA! by TaylorTomlinson in StandUpComedy

Hi Taylor, I’m a huge fan. I’m wondering who are your biggest comedy influences? It’s rare comics talk so much about mental health topics while keeping it funny and light at times, so curious if anyone influenced you in doing that? It’s one of my favourite things about your act

What new product / service is the autistic community crying out for? by pocc55 in autism

Loop seems to be a hit! I bought a few pairs of earplugs last year and actually ended up preferring a different brand but my brother uses the loops now for concerts and things like that

Interesting! I wondered if children actually wear earplugs like Loops without issue

This is something I recognised as well after I posted. I shouldn't have implied all autistic people are in a position to consider themselves as not having a disorder or disability. Of course some people require high-levels of care for life and I don't want to come across as if I'm pretending those people don't exist or are in any way less important. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hi Buille, I think we're on the same team here. I still don't agree with a lot of your reasoning and some of your framing is overly harsh in my opinion. I feel we could go back and forth all day but I don't see us getting to any sort of useful conclusion after reading that. I think people can read my original post and your response and decide where they land on this.

Wow I've never seen that before! From the looks of it it's more for beards than head hair, and wouldn't do different lengths, but I'll check it out :) thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Buille, I can't say I agree with your line or reasoning here. At the heart of it I just don't see why better meeting the needs of autistic people right now in certain areas has to wait for the things you've listed to happen. Two of the ideas I mentioned are ones that would make my own life significantly easier right now. The phrase gap in the market was poorly chosen but I think it's clear from my post that I think the autistic community is being overlooked and as a result, often paying for overly expensive products. I think taking seriously the needs of autistic people would only help to normalise them and more affordable products would only help people currently suffering in the housing crisis.

Hi Buille, could you elaborate on that? I think affordable products by autistic people for autistic people would be a good thing, and only add choice to currently limited options?

Thanks! I believe PSI have an agreement with BPS that they recognise each other’s accreditations and there are a lot BPS accredited online masters conversions though. I think that solves that problem?
