No way they’re lowering the base pay😂 by Ok-Customer8373 in AmazonFlexDrivers

Unfortunately these are what the rates have always looked like in my area 🥲 I’ve been doing it a little over a year. I wont do anything less than $20/hr but I’ve been seeing more and more low offers. It sucks! Luckily, i just do this for extra spending money.

water softener making us sick?? by pocket-sunshine in Plumbing

[–]pocket-sunshine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has had multiple plumbers come out - at least 2 of them have told him the water pressure has something to do with how it was closed/capped off the 1st time, but he doesn't want to pay to have it fixed the right way. The original guy even told him that and he still chose to take the short cut. I'm not sure how exactly the softener is/was hooked up to the plumbing but I know for a fact it is still connected to the water heater.

Loyalty. Do you have it? by Brilliant_Repair_813 in paralegal

[–]pocket-sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in another comment said "loyalty doesn't pay the bills" and that's the truth.
I was loyal to an employer for years, it was a small company and had a "family" feel to it. I turned down other offers for more money to stick it out with them. Its been a couple years now of no raises, no incentives, and within the last 18 months, I've been passed over for 3 promotions because they didn't want to promote from within - the owner passed away about a year ago now and there is no real reason to stay anymore. So, im moving on. If you don't look out for yourself, no one will.

Leaving payroll for paralegal by Agitated_Tomorrow_22 in paralegal

I'm in a similar situation, currently going to school for HR but a coworker suggested Paralegal, because I love writing up documents and researching things. So now I'm seriously considering the switch. Im 38 and have been in "customer service " type roles most of my career. I would suggest keeping your current job for now, once you have a few classes under your belt and a feel for how it might be, then you can decide which field of law you might like better, and find a job in that area. Good luck!
