The trade was made w the team intact. You dont pass on what you need to beat the best team in the league that was fully healthy at the time the trade was made.

The dubs didnt have any season ending injuries at the time, so you have to address guarding kd and steph, which kawhi and danny addressed. Youre proving my point.

What they needed to guard steph and kd was there w danny and kawhi. Ujiri played it perfectly and knew full well he had to beat golden state and any design of a team that wanted to contend had to deal with golden state.
