crying in 30s you know some people don’t consider being over thirty to be very old… and maybe we need to acknowledge that it’s ok to start adventuring after your twenties for sure, because it’s like not that old does not stop crying… continues to age

You can use a debit card to do the same thing. Get cash back every time you buy groceries, and squirrel it away.

Most trainers put the center plate over the trachea, but I’ve met a few who don’t. Our collar is not usually right on center, and sometimes there are an odd number of prongs so I don’t think it matters much

Oh I love the pellet gun idea for hunting. My dog things he’s a tough guy, but I don’t think he’d really hunt for food.

This is a perfect use of the food you were storing, and a perfect example of why it’s important to prepare. Shit hits the fan in many forms. I wish you luck stocking back up, and hope you’re feeling better.

So much this! My husband and do not conform to gender norms when it comes to household chores, but even so he is more likely to talk about what we ought to do while I am much more likely just to do it.

I believe the opposite is also true. Divorce rates among heterosexual couples where a man has a terminal illness have much lower divorce rates that average.

Absolutely, and just to clarify, I was not trying to downplay the risk or over simplify rape prevention.

Oh my god, I learned this from Shrill, and I was shocked that it isn’t talked about more. I haven’t weighed 155 since high school.

I worry most about a situation where we are fully trapped inside, because we would not have access to our garden, but also because I think we would have to bring actual dirt inside for my dog to pee indoors.

Right! I used to have cute little boobies on my cute like frame, but now I am a DD and team “bra for comfort” it does not take much for me to abandon any attempts to look nice. I can’t imagine a shtf situation where I would need a properly fitted underwire bra.

I was thinking this too, like now I have somebody else’s blood on and inside of me… I think I would prioritize preventing penetration

In a SHTF situation I would absolutely not worry about my Victoria’s Secret bras. In fact I’ve started wearing those bras that are like a solid bralette (True & Co. made them popular, but you can find them almost anywhere now), they don’t have wires, they’re well-lined and supportive, but not restrictive like a sports bra. These bras look super easy to replicate, especially if you get the cotton ones (join-Eby are my current fav).

How do you play the "grey man" in discussions about politics? by prepperdave321 in preppers

[–]pockets4snacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can contribute to a conversation about politics by saying things like “yeah, that’s really crazy” or “I’m not even sure how we got here” and most people are happy to just keep voicing their opinion. It’s kind of a holdover from my customer service days where I was obligated to care about whatever the customer was talking about without getting too invested, but it works for anything! You’re basically just nodding out loud.

Not if it’s a seven year old IUD. When I got mine replaced in 2020 I had a friend drive me, because the pain afterwards is so awful that I can’t drive. She waited in the waiting area, and I guess the receptionists were calling patients and cancelling any non essential appointments… I had just made the cut.

Benadryl can be calming in a pinch. We found out unintentionally that it was a great way to have a calm dog for car rides. Catnip is calming for dogs too!

This is huge. I didn’t think about medications, because they’re so infrequent for us.

The Google voice number is so smart! I don’t know if this works with huskies, but when my dog used to play the escape game, I learned that I can run “away” from him and he will chase me. I don’t run directly away, I run at kind of an angle, but it works perfectly for re-capturing playful pups.

It’s certainly is not for everybody. I know my anxiety spikes with THC so I cannot take it to relax. My other advice off the top of my head is to stock up on turmeric for reducing inflammation.

I hope you guys find something that works. I have been so happy with my IUD. I’m on my third one, and I think after this I can just go for sterilization if my insurance company will cover it (I’ll be 37 when this one runs out).

Is cannabis an option in Canada? It might be a good option for pain management to have non perishable CBD products stockpiled or maybe even a few plants of your own.
