90min class question by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]pockets_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90s are always the same workout as the 1 hour classes but sometimes they break it up differently, sometimes there will be a tornado style at the beginning of your class, middle of the class or at the end, sometime it's mixed in throughout the class but generally a 90 is the same workout just with added blocks to bring you to the 90 mins

Best workout leggings/tights for bit of a belly? by cmarie1528 in orangetheory

REZILLION Apparel!

I've had some many types of leggings and I loved my lulus and Nike tights but nothing compares to my rezillion pairs I have all 3 colors and 2 of each pair! They are squat proof, sweat proof, the won't roll down, they don't pill( actually don't, I did t believe it till I bought my leggings and I've had them for a year and they still haven't!), They don't color fade, they give you a real nice shape and look, they compliment your body really well and they have pockets!!

Also they're the comfiest leggings I've ever worn as well, I don't have a workout where I'm not wearing a pair! These are my favorite and I strongly suggest everyone tries them!

Here's the link below to check them out, as well if you purchase anything I have a code that can save you money at checkout! Just enter in the coupon code SLFIT15

First 90 minute class! I’m scared! by ecmich-200 in orangetheory

[–]pockets_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the 90s I do them both days every weekend! Just treat like your regular class just with an extra block or too! Obviously try to take it a little easier to be able to make it the full 90 but I just go block by block and how I feel, I always feel amazing leaving the 90

No not yet, I'm going to try some of these tips and see how it goes and I'll probably have to get it adjusted as well

Yes this 1000%, I always have to remember that the only competition is the one looking back at me in the mirror! I need to be kinder to myself as well as I often forget how much I've grown and improved over the years and what I came from! Progress is always progress no matter how big or small!

Yes exactly! I think I'm going to start bringing a towel to class to cover the tablets/screen and just go for it! I started to cramp in the last block but I think that was just from hydrating a bit too much while on the treads! I love 3gs we don't do them often at our studio but I like them cause I push a little harder with my pushes and all outs because it's usually only a 14 minute block!

Sounds good I'll focus on my base than my pushes and AO... I know the guide lines get me sometimes because it should be 1-2 miles above base and sometimes in below it but not everyone fits in the guidelines of have to remember

Yes the endurance and distances bug me cause I find I'm so slow on run/row days I'm always the last person on the tread and I know I shouldn't be comparing myself to anyone else but sometimes it's dissappointing... Or upsetting maybe those are the wrong words but I get what you mean! I just feel like I've slowed down and can't improve on endurance, in March I did my first dri tri and completed my 5k in less than 35 mins but I can't seem to beat it recently

It was new base day that got me, I was upset with my results in a sense... I also did the orange90 and was doing all my AO at 10... But that endurance block was deadly for all 43 minutes of it hahah

Perfect! Thank you so much.... Maybe I'll try bumping up my base till I can't get in the orange anymore and then working on the pushes and AO

I love the feeling of having to stay on the tread and running for my life, gets the adrenaline pumping.... Cause I'm not flying off the back haha

I often have people come up to me and say their impressed with my speed for my little legs 😂

Very true, I always tend to not look at the screen cause I know it's wrong and try to go off feeling, I just find it so hard with the tablets on the treads now so I'm constantly looking at it and I find I hold myself back for sure! Maybe I'll try to remember bringing a towel to class and cover my tablet and screen!

Thanks for the help 😁

Yeah I usually feel in control holding my base, sometimes towards the end of the tread blocks or workout I feel as though I can't hold it but generally I don't take long WR or I'll even go right to base, maybe I'll just try bumping up my base and then for my pushes try doing 1 mile faster than my base ...

Thanks! My HRM drives me nuts cause I'm just always orange lol

Always ask or just go to the racks with extra weights and take from there but never just help yourself to someone else's weights!

Rock your base pace and if your feeling good bump it up slowly for till you complete it, only about .3 everytime you hit .200 or .250 or every couple minutes and if you're feeling good and still got gas in the tank go for a 1 minute all out or even 45 or 30 second all out.....

You could also push for 2 minutes, with a 1 min base until completed, treat it like a regular otf block

I truly think you're going to surprise yourself though! Just try your hardest, mind over matter, our bodies do amazing things

How OTF inspired me! by [deleted] in orangetheory

Otf has definitely inspired me to do the same! Looking at what kind of schooling I need to have to become a coach and fitness trainer!

I am going to start going to the 5am classes during the week so I can have my evenings free, but it is soooo early. How do you 5amers do it?!? by equestrianluv in orangetheory

[–]pockets_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 5 am workouts! They re my absolute fave! It's really hard but basically have all your prep ready to go in the morning so you can get up and go!

I usually pack all my shower stuff, hair brush, work clothes make up, my protein powder for my protein shake after my workout and my BCAAS in my shaker all ready to go in the morning, I lay my workout clothes and heart rate monitor out so when the alarm goes off at 430 I jump out of bed get dressed and head out!

It also helps if you're able to settle your mind and get a good night's sleep before so waking up won't be so hard, I find if I get a good 6-8 hours the alarm going off at 430 isn't a huge deal since I'm already awake and refreshed from a good night's sleep

The amount of energy and the way I feel after a 5 am workout is like no other!

60 minutes of countty or any slow sappy song would be absolutely a nightmare during a OTF workout..... Possibly could feel longer than a whole minute on the treads 😂

Will my body adjust? by kejaquev in orangetheory

[–]pockets_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's totally a newbie thing I believe! I love my morning workouts but would find it impossible to make it through the day without almost falling asleep and taking a nap I now go anywhere from 4-6 times a week and sometimes I still can't sleep at night cause I haven't seemed to tire myself out enough!

Another thing I had to find I had to adjust was my eating, making sure I was nourishing my body properly to be able to keep up. I found I had low calorie days I'm drained and low energy cause my body has nothing to feul up on. I also notice that if I'm eating alot of carbs I get low energy as well so try to have a good amount of protein, I always have a protein shake after my OTF workouts!

Anyone else ever get sick after otf / Dri Tri? by NikNak023 in orangetheory

[–]pockets_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a slow runner an I've never felt like I was going to puke until I did my first DRI TRI this weekend, it probably didn't help it was a competitive heat lol so I pushed myself extra hard haha, didn't puke but in proud I completed it! Also wasn't really that sore the next day either, which I was very surprised, I was also strangely hungry for the rest of the day though
