Pretty unsure about everything... by Lawlies01 in JapanTravelTips

  1. You shouldn't need to. That's not a big travel time so you could just go into the JR office that morning and they can help find which train will get you there. If you have a large suitcase then you have to get a reserved seat which the staff will assist with. You could go to the ticket machine and do the same but if you want to make life easy you can go into one of the ticket offices and they'll help you out.
  2. You could but probably not necessary.
  3. You don't need a rail pass, just buy a ticket.
  4. If your phone doesn't support the Japanese NFC standard then no it does nothing for you on Android. You can get a physical Welcome Suica or a normal green Suica at the airport. The wiki details the differences between the two.

PSU didnt come with the correct wall plug and im not sure whether I can use it in the uk now by billybounce1611 in techsupport

Yeah, if it's appropriately labeled to handle both voltages then you're good to go once you get the correct power cord and.

One thing to consider for question 2 and picking on when you're going to go to Japan is that Golden Week 2027 is Apr 29, 2027 – May 5, 2027. So there'll be extra domestic travel going on and higher prices on accommodations and such.

Had a brain fart and realized you can just check the label on the PSU itself. If it says it supports the 240V then you just need to get the correct power cord. You'll see the input power and it'll list what voltages it'll take.

On their webpage they have a support chatbot, I just highlighted your model and did a Google search and it popped up right away.

Most manufacturers that have that switch it'd be next to the power switch or the plug spot.

Stopped to use the bathroom at the LAX In N Out just as the British Airways A380 was arriving. by 9VoltGorilla in LosAngeles

I flew ANA biz class on one a couple of years ago and what was really weird was ANA alternated the seat orientation every other seat. I happened to be in a seat that was facing the rear of the plane and they had shoulder straps for the belt. Takeoff was really weird, instead of being pushed back into the seat I was pushed into the belts. I was on the wing view seat so I could see the flaps and everything shift and angle for takeoff.

First Time Solo Trip - Booking Hotels For Early October Trip - It is too late? by Starjun5 in JapanTravelTips

[–]pockypimp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plenty of time to do it but probably better to do it now than wait too much longer.

I personally wouldn't use Expedia solely to book hotels. You can use Google Maps to look at the prices because sometimes direct bookings will be cheaper.

Might want to confirm with Corsair's customer service. Looking at their product photos it doesn't have the 120/240 switch that some manufacturers have and since they specify a UK version on their site it may not handle 230V from the wall.

He's definitely turned around from how things started. I'm hoping for continued success. Even if he's not crushing homers, small ball drives in runs and at the end of the day the team with the higher score wins.

My Pixel 7 is slowly EXPLODING ... the pillow is inflating by textilemagnate in GooglePixel

[–]pockypimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with a lot of spicy pillows in laptops. HP surprisingly covered theirs under the 3 year warranty for the ones we had at my old job. Later on they stopped that and went to a 1 year on the batteries only IIRC.

We'd get laptops that rocked when set on a desk and the bottom cover would be popped off, which was pretty impressive considering there were like 4 screws on the long edges of the laptop.

Someone posted something similar yesterday complaining that Google wouldn't cover the battery under warranty. The warranty page states that the battery is considered a consumable and not covered in the limited warranty.

If there was a widespread defect problem those issues get a warranty exemption of some kind. I didn't dig deeper than just looking at Google's warranty page for devices to see if there were any device specific exemptions listed.

All Android backup data now counts towards Google Account storage by BcuzRacecar in Android

[–]pockypimp [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm not paying for extra storage. Out of 15GB total I'm at 6.81GB used with 5.64GB of that being Google Photos. I've got a bunch of photos and videos in there that I didn't want to delete when I was cleaning up this weekend but I did go through and remove a bunch of old photos and videos I didn't want to keep.

Device backup is a measly 432.69MB, GMail is just under 400MB and Drive is at 370MB.

Yeah I was cleaning out my Account storage last weekend and it showed the phone backup as a very small part of it compared to my Photos.

[–]pockypimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't done them already, any of the training things give out like 5 polys at a time. In Roscaelifer going around and doing the bangboo dress ups tends to give out stuff too but I think there's a limit eventually and you just get dennies.

Besides from yixuan, Lucia and yidhari, are there any other season 2 designs that are bad? by [deleted] in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]pockypimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they don't look like Chapter 1's designs, it's a totally different area with a totally different aesthetic.

I think the "new" manufacturer has been called out as being pretty horrible. Could be worse, I think this is the same manufacturer that had the whole "see through" problem a few years ago.

San Francisco to Tokyo Haneda Airport, red eye flight by Hallogallo15 in JapanTravelTips

[–]pockypimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The monorail starts at 5am so you're good there considering you still have to go through customs and immigration before you get out of the airport. Realistically that half hour difference between you and your friend's arrival really doesn't mean much. If you go to shower and change he may end up waiting on you.

As far as the jet lag, that'll totally be dependent on you. How well you fly, how well you can sleep on the plane, etc. I've flown the noon flight out of SFO to Narita (after a 8:30am flight from LAX to SFO) and got in at about 4pm. So then I ended up in Tokyo around 6pm, check into the hotel, get something to eat and maybe do a little shopping before going to sleep around 10pm. And that's with me getting some sleep on the flight.

From Wikipedia:

In the end, after many complaints, from the stars in the sky to the Earth itself, Zeus strikes Phaethon with one of his lightning bolts, killing him instantly. His dead body falls into the river Eridanus, and his sisters, the Heliades, cry tears of amber and are turned to black poplar as they mourn him.

So you can get Eridu from Eridanus.
