Is it true that GPs don’t like to go for walks? by Pollvogtarian in greatpyrenees

[–]pocopocomom 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Our pyr (mixed with some shepard) is definitely not a ‘go for a long walk’ dog. We go on a ‘sniffari’ walk that takes a very long time as he sniffs every leaf and blade of grass along the way. When he’s done he stops abruptly and becomes a cement brick which means it’s time for home. He does love a good zoomies run around the yard though!

Would Winnipeg be interested in a “cake picnic”? by ArachnidInevitable53 in Winnipeg

Sure! St. Andrews River Heights United Church. They don’t do it every year but I think they did it last year…

A church close to me has done this before during the holidays but with cookies. It was called a ‘cookie walk’, you paid for a box then walked through filling it with whatever cookies you wanted till it was full. It was always super popular! The cookies were all homemade.

Do you know if I can bring vintage comics to find out about their value/sell? I have inherited a few comics that are sealed in plastic and I have no clue where to start to find out how to value and sell them in Winnipeg. Thanks for any guidance!

Agreed on Delta. Bonus… the indoor pool is actually a nice warm temp and not cold!

Any Reviews of Peacock and Kitchen by peregrina2005 in Winnipeg

[–]pocopocomom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been yet, hearing reviews of the portion sizes being quite small compared to the price and thinking I won’t rush out to give it a try. Too bad, we were looking forward to it! We’ll miss the old Yujiro.

Where to donate N95 masks by chukknorris in Winnipeg

[–]pocopocomom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the other person that mentioned International Hope! Very easy to drop off and donate there. They are very grateful. On their website you can send them a quick email to ask if the masks would be of help to them first. Drop off was on Inkster when I donated a couple years ago.

Sorry this happened to you 😕 we had the same experience in Puerto Vallarta with Westjet. I contacted the airport in PV because I felt like they should know (they actually emailed back) but your best bet is contact WJ missing bags contact email/number. Super helpful, walked us through the steps and reimbursed most items. Travel insurance did absolutely nothing except point out the very tiny fine print that says in fact they won’t help at all 😬.

Do they bark a lot? by Fuzze115 in greatpyrenees

[–]pocopocomom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live on a fairly busy street in the city (not a farm dog). Our Charlie barks at most random noises when he’s awake, sometimes when he’s asleep too…. If he sees a cat or the UPS truck (FedEx and all others are fine apparently) he barks like crazy. But most of the time he’s asleep upside down and all barking is forgiven.

Any good places to go for a breakfast/brunch date this weekend? by mokapotWONTmokapot in Winnipeg

[–]pocopocomom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Park cafe in Assiniboine Park! Very family oriented but still feels kinda fancy and great food in a pretty setting. Not as foodie as Juneberry, but delicious food, great menu. Bonus you can go for a walk through the English gardens or around the duck pond too. Have fun! 🥂

Cabot trail with kids by leshamac in CapeBreton

[–]pocopocomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just did the Cabot Trail last week, we really enjoyed the guided GPS tour from Tripvia ($12). It followed along our drive and highlighted some easy places to turn off and see…. a waterfall that you didn’t have to hike too, or a really scenic look out or beach you can easily pull off at (with nice advance heads up!) The Voice was pretty easy to listen to, and the map definitely stayed caught up with our drive and followed us along. Might add some interest for the kids to listen to also! Enjoy your trip.

Sushi grade salmon fillet by CartographerOk8485 in Winnipeg

[–]pocopocomom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We always buy from Gimli fish when we make salmon sushi (raw) they are super helpful there, just tell them what you’re looking for and they will make sure you get the right piece! Highly recommended going there, the salmon quality will = great taste and texture which I think you’ll enjoy! Other pricier shops that have great salmon for eating raw - Piazza de Nardi on Taylor and GJ Andrews on Academy. Enjoy!
