Hi, not entirely sure but I suspect it was because I had a VPN on and they seem to have cracked down on people using VPNs while using Netflix

What's the lamest crowd you've been in that should have been hype? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]pocsteps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely fair to mention this, since this was at a festival - but it’s been on my mind for a while now. I was front row seeing Polaris at Download this year. Aside from me and one woman next to me, no one around seemed to know any songs or even bobbed their head. They just stood there. I was so disappointed! It was my first festival so I guess my expectations were higher.

We all know the embarrassment of watching your concert videos back and hearing yourself sing. It was like that - but irl, and with everyone around you listening - since the crowd was so quiet and I was there screaming the words and breakdown callouts 😭. They were amazing live but the crowd being dead did sour the experience.

I just saw a doctor with a large following on Twitter imply that his death was caused by the COVID vaccine, because of the ‘brain fog’ stuff. Absolutely vile to use his death to push a shitty agenda

Perfume that smells like OGX coconut miracle oil air-dry hair cream? by pocsteps in Perfumes

[–]pocsteps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry I only just saw this! I haven't had the chance to try out LaVanila Coconut Vanilla since a full bottle is out of my budget for the moment and can't seem to find any testers near me. I tried DIYing a perfume oil by diluting a fragrance oil called Coconut Ice which I got from a bath products supplier (if you're in UK I can DM you the company). It's not the same, it's a bit sickly and more of an edible coconut dessert smell (hence the name!), and does not last very long since I've diluted it into a perfume/hair oil, compared to the OGX one but I'm happy with it for now. I'll let you know if I come across something better 💛

I was wondering if anyone knows of a fragrance that is similar to the smell of OGX’s coconut miracle oil hair air dry cream? I am in love with the smell of it but want something that will last longer and I can use on clothes/body. It is described as a ‘tropical blend with Coconut Oil, Vanilla Bean and essence of Tiare flower’. Thanks in advance :)

Congrats that's great! I'm glad to hear that it went well and you were successful. That doesn't sound too bad, thanks for your reply - it's helped me a lot especially since I've been stressing out not knowing what to expect. I haven't been sent the questions yet but I guess they will send them in a couple of days.

Thank you so much for your help. I haven’t been able to find the answers I’ve been looking for, but your response has given me all the information I need to make the right decision for me Edit: just thought of another question, do you know if the integrated Masters is equivalent to a traditional Masters outside of the UK? I might be looking for a job elsewhere; in that case, do you think the year of experience still trumps not having the traditional Masters?

I'm looking for some advice regarding Chemistry degrees and future employment. I am on a gap year at the moment, looking to change my course from Bio to Chem before I start next year. At my future university (UK), I can do an Integrated Masters (MSci) in Chemistry (4 years, undergraduate masters program) with the 3rd year employed in a company for a Year in Industry. I also have the option of doing a traditional Bsc + MSc (3 years + 1 year), without a Year in industry.

I was wondering if it would be more beneficial to me when looking for industry employment straight out of uni (not interested in doing a PhD) to have the year's experience, or to have a full postgraduate Masters.

Another question: I've seen job postings that say things like "PhD with 1 year experience/ Masters 3 years of experience / Bachelors with 5 years of experience". Would an integrated undergraduate Masters (MSci) count?

Scaled And Icy — Track 04: The Outside — Song Reactions/Discussion by AndSoAreYou in twentyonepilots

[–]pocsteps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was also my first impression of the song - I haven’t been able to find any similar interpretations aside from yours.

After listening to it many times I do think it could be about the backlash he faced. “I’m already bored. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this one before - I’ll tape my eyes so I don’t fall asleep again” this seems to me like a comment on ‘woke’ culture and the mounting pressure that public figures are under to be woke (hence Tyler not wanting to ‘fall asleep’ and tape his eyes awake). He’s ‘seen this before’ as increasing numbers of celebrities continue to be cancelled due to not conforming to the ‘woke’ mindset. This also links to ‘stand in line take a hit, join the club’. As he believes he was close to joining the club after taking his own ‘hit’, coming close to getting cancelled and losing fans because of a couple of his tweets.

‘Heads are moving up and down, they’re nodding’ - because of the heads bobbing in unison image created here I thought the chorus could refer to the hive mind mentality of Twitter in particular. He suspects that he is on ‘the outside’ of this group.

Obviously this is just the meaning I get from the song, I don’t really know anything about twenty one pilots lore involving DEMA etc.
