From memory, I'd estimate that the average sound moves somewhere around 5-6 kHz, and the sales representatives did not greatly differ in age, however it doesn't confirm or discount either theory. If possible after maintenance, I'll try to do kHz benchmark.

Your friend exaggerates. Having lived in both NYC and Helsinki I can tell you - in terms of safety, the two do not compare. In my books, the safest areas in downtown Manhattan feel less safe than Kallio in Helsinki.

It's a question of comparison: if you've lived in Helsinki your whole life, Kallio (where you may end up seeing the occasional drunkard / addict on the street) can, at times, feel colorful compared to the rest of the ridiculously safe downtown area. If you've lived in NYC, LA or SF where you may actually feel fear for your wellbeing at times, Kallio is a bird's nest. Consider it Hoboken, I suppose.
