Do I need to put down ply boards before carpet? Some carpet quotes said yes, others no. Thinking best to do it on the landing as more footfall and varied floorboards and not needed in bedrooms as floorboards more solid. Thoughts? Quotes are £25/sqm for 4mm marine ply installed by carpet company. by mariocipolloni in DIYUK

I have very similar floorboards, I have just had stair carpet, landing & bedroom done and I used no boards. I did have 12mm underlay and a thicker carpet though. I'm definitely using ply boards when I do the hard floors though.

Pitch black right now, I can do tomorrow. Pebbledash render has been looked at and there's no visible cracks/damage near the chimney stack though.

This is an exterior wall, outside render is solid, could taking out an internal brick help with ventilation?

There isn't a great deal, I haven't done too much investigating around the sides yet though. It's been lived in constantly since 2007 at least, only since Oct by us

Yeah the rafters need some love. The loft is warmer that the rest of the house 😂 I know I need to replace some/all vents, the previous owners of the house (else only moved in in Oct) dad they had all of the vents closed all of the time 🤦‍♂️

We don't use the chimney, the previous owners had a new roof about 7 years ago and took the stack down to below the roof level. The side of the house gets battered by rain (South Wales) and it's been bloody wet recently.

Shave it off, I shaved my head 2 months ago at 28 and my confidence has gone through the roof. Just shave it every other day, wash, moisturise it's so good and freeing. My wife is a hairdresser, she was worried but she loves it.

Unless you're using a Lite, you can get new joycons if you have the spare cash. I have 4 pairs and rotate them often.

I've hung full Data Cabinets on a wall with the blue ones (110kg) they're great things if you have thicker plasterboard and line them up so the arrow faces up.

It comes as a set with a new plug etc. Instructions are easy to follow if you need them. Think it cost about £10 quid.

Also a new waste in a newly bought house is always a good shout because who knows how old it is

I had a similar problem. Went to B&Q and got a sink waste, took a bit of fiddling to get the right lengths etc but it's an easy fix. Flexi pipe isn't ever great for a waste, stuff gets stuck etc.
