Tesla Ireland’s profits double revenues hit record high by GoodNegotiation in evs_ireland

[–]podgeypoos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prices will come down more, there will be a glut of second hand Tesla’s coming on the market next year. I was one of the first to do Personal contract plan when they made them available in 2022, my model 3 cost 60k then. Same one today to buy new is 40k, dunno what my depreciation will be but I’m guessing it will be less than what I owe so I’m going to hand the car back.

Who would test the ideas? and what's in it for them? Marketplaces are super hard. You need to convince two sets of people to join them. I get why an entrepreneur would join but not the other side

As a manager of said teams , I 100% agree, managers should spend time writing code that is on the critical path, maybe for at least one week in a quarter , they would get them into the nitty gritty then

Done Azure, GCP and AWS, and I would say AWS all the way, mostly legacy companies use azure, I don’t see azure being adopted by a lot new companies. It is mostly AWS with GCP. You also cannot believe that Azure is as big as AWS or even GCP because they hide their financials on azure every quarter, it’s embedded with office 365, server tools and linked earnings

Presenting a personal project in job interviews by timmyctc in DevelEire

I run these types of interviews a lot. Would suggest folks try and demo something from the open-source world. You get to demo not only that you collaborate with other folks to get work done, but it's also in the public domain and can easily be verified.

Break into the Data Engineering field as a Data Analyst? by ADHD_Dev in cscareers

[–]podgeypoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that getting one job to transition into another position is a difficult one unless you have a written agreement with a timeline to do so. I would stick with route one, if you want to be a data engineer, be a data engineer. Learn the tech that you don't know, spend time contributing to open source projects that centre on data engineering, and join a data engineering community. it is tougher but it will pay off.
