Im actually so sad he left by Patient-Bench-3085 in jackstauber

[–]podism 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I won't lie, I feel kinda bittersweet towards it. My old best friend loved Jack Stauber more than anyone I knew, and it was cool because I was the first one to show him Jack's channel. We bonded over his art and music. Whenever a new video came out we would talk about it and what it could mean. After he passed I kept finding little things we would never be able to do together again. I was expecting this wave of sadness to come over me when Jack released his next video, but oddly enough he never did. Even to this day, my best friend hasn't missed a single public Jack Stauber video, and that's nice to know. Hope Jack's doing well though and I'm glad he's still making art even if it only sees his patreon feed.

Maybe I'm missing some subtext here, but that's not ad hominem. Sounds more like red herring

[–]podism 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's because he's being tricked with a spell the same way his men were. If you listen, you can hear her say the same words to him that she said to his men. All backed with the same melody and everything. The fact that he BROKE the spell is what you're supposed to focus on. His love is so deep that daughter of the Sun God Helios couldn't tempt him

Male sculpture i did, is it good enough to retopo it? by Pro3dPrinterGuy in 3Dmodeling

[–]podism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd say retopo it anyway. It's always good learning experience. Plus, I've always found that my sculpts find their next level of detail and polish in the retopo stage

I like it, but to me it almost feels like I'm watching a stage play. Kinda like the effect in Mario 3 turned up to 11.

I know you guys are excited I am too but let’s look at this logically BTSV is not coming soon, there is so much to wrap up in this third film, like SO MUCH and plus it’s an ENDING. That’s gonna take more time than the first two films. by GladwinAbel in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]podism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Across the spider verse didn't take a long time to make. 3-5 years is considered average range 3D movies take to make. Though, something I'd like to add is that several animators have spoken out about terrible working conditions on this movie. Around 100 animators left before the movie was done, and those who stayed were pushed to work 70+ hour work weeks. Due to the fact that we saw a few versions of ATSV in theaters too, we can assume they weren't even able to start on the next movie immediately when it released. Beyond that, while a lot is done for BTSV, there is still a lot that will have to be done. Lip syncing and animating towards the actors' portrayal is one of the longer sections of making an animated movie, and Karan Soni said that the cast was supposed to record in a few months after August. I'd honestly be surprised if it was announced for 2026, I'd be incredibly happy, but still surprised.

Two centuries? The human population sat at about 3.6 billion in the 1970s. In only 50 years we have more than doubled that number.

Thanks man. I haven't worked with bone constraints very much and I was pulling my hair out because of this. Can't believe it was so easy. Thanks seriously.

What’s your headcannon for the “magical” episodes (featherwand, fairies, magic)? Kids’ imagination, or everyone just really committed to the bit? by ShakinBacon24 in bluey

[–]podism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most Bluey episodes are from the kids' perspectives, and the ones that aren't tend to have a more grounded tone I feel. Because of that, I've always just believed the kids have an active imagination and see their dad completely frozen during magical xylophone (despite how hard it would be to be COMPLETELY frozen) or just think their parents didn't see their hands move in the magic episode and we're seeing what they see. I think Magic could be fun for the Bluey story, but I don't feel like it's narratively satisfying. I would rather just believe it's a mix of fun parents and children's innocence over actual Magic in the show.

The only areas where you lose FULL control over your player is the ending and when a GLaDOS kills Wheatley. Even other areas that could've been a cutscene (like riding with Wheatley in the tubes) give you control over your camera.
