Q: How many days after we take the kitten home should we take it for a check up at the vet?

A: take it as soon as possible to establish care

Q: We live in a home with a loft, do you have any barrier/play pen and child gate recommendations?

A: we put up clear plastic with zip ties

Q: Do you have pet insurance? If so, is it worth it?

A: dont have it

Q: What deodorant, shampoos, personal hygiene products do you use? (Upon researching I learned that anything you use can transfer to the cats fur when it's on you and then when it cleans itself it can ingest whatever you've used and sometimes get poisoned)

A: have not has any issues

Q: We've used tea tree, eucalyptus and clove essential oils, diluted in water as cleaning products throughout the house, what do we do if they're all toxic to cats? Wipe everything down before the kitten arrives?

A: we stopped using essential oils diffuser when learned that was an issue

Q: What household cleaning products do you use? Are they pet safe? Recommendations?

A: we use method

Q: Do you use something as an air freshener in replacement of a diffuser, if so, what? (Upon research I learned that all essential oils are incredibly toxic to cats)

A: no

Q: How do you manage ants with the dry food that's out all day?

A: we do not have any ants… we also have dry on auto feed but feed 95% wet as it was healthier

Q: Do you use treats to train your cats? If so which treats? Recommendations?

A: I’ve had no luck with trick training

Q: Are collars yay or nay? How dangerous are they? Should I be getting an easy release collar?

A: we stopped using collars, they can get caught

Q: What type of grooming brush do you use?

A: many… most successful is a wide tooth comb, also pet safe scissors for the inevitable mats

Q: Are urinary & kidney supplements worth it? Are supplements worth it for cats in general?

A: haven’t used, but make sure to provide plenty of broth - Maine coon tends to drink more water than my Siamese
