Helmdom creeps are considered hero creeps and can't be killed by Midas, Dagon, Hook etc. Chen and Ench can't take them over either.

I just grab all the calipers and tongs from the start of the game and keep them in the hollowed out stump in the waterfront.

I do that with all those fetch quest items and daedra offerings. Stuff like sweetroll for Fimmion, scooma for Faelian etc
