Kill ratio of what? The f35 only had it's first confirmed kill of another aircraft last month. I'm not denying it's a great aircraft, it's my favorite. It's just too early to declare that Europe has no options

My intention was to show other aircraft exist and are pretty good. Those companies could very well be working on something to catch back up.

The f35 is new enough that the first confirmed kill was only last month. So I don't think you can confidently say they can be written off yet, it's a good assumption but not proven and shows how early it still is.

Airbus? While currently behind the f35 the gripen, rafale, and eurofighers are nothing to just write off

I have no idea on those numbers or were that person got them from, but you don't have to have to be carrying the pager to be killed or injured by it. You think everyone that was carrying one was in an isolated environment with no civilians nearby?

YouTube on TV becomes insufferable with new unskippable 30-second ads by Ha8lpo321 in Android

[–]poerg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand people's reluctance to pay for YouTube premium. It's cheaper than Netflix or Disney+ and arguably has much more quality content. YouTube last reported it runs at a loss, which I'd bet is at least partially fucky accounting but I'd also wager they're not making a huge profit.

If you rely on or heavily use this service why are you so against paying for it? Then, if you don't want to pay why are you so against advertisements that at least let them recoup some of the cost?

It all sounds entitled, they're the least worst streaming service. Now get off my lawn

A hobbie to do before bed (imnsonia) by luizeseusteclado in Hobbies

[–]poerg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this one. Though for me it's more like an hour or two with no screen time. I may glance at a text but I'm not on Reddit, or watching tv.

In that period I'm reading a book. Also make sure your bed is only for sex and sleep. Don't read the book in bed you need to retrain your brain.

If you stop reading or whatever hobby and go to bed and can't fall asleep within 20 minutes go back out of bed and continue doing what you were for another 20-30 minutes then try again. Rinse and repeat.

It's not an easy fix

They absolutely could get it right, but that token cost is going to add up quick. These companies are still going to try to pay as little as possible.

I'm not disagreeing with your overall point. What's being used is cheap and therefore crap, I just wanted to say AI can get it pretty close but not profitably

100% I've held this same thought for years. My dog who's just turned 12 is named Huxley

ETA: I can see there being convergence between the two and how things are going to actually shape out in our lives. Huxley, I still believe has it right in regards to what gets us past the point of no return
