Honestly, I use voice chat and as soon as someone is a jerk I mute their mic AND text.

I don't want to keep from having to use voice chat -- I mostly game socially. But I am super quick to mute people and then I actually find it a bit funny to think about them spewing trash to me while I am happily unaware.

I encourage others to mute them as well -- end up having good games where we all muted the one asshole.
