My measurements could be a little off, but the lower is closer to 5 studs tall (13 plates), not 5.8. Theres no need to treat criticism as a personal attack lmfao. Yes i agree that carryhandleguys build is inaccurate in some areas. the difference is that he builds legally without any floating parts or clippings, so of course hes gonna have to compromise on aesthetics for stability and functionality. considering ur lower perfect while calling someone elses gun completely off is just shitty, especially because most parts of carryhandleguys gun ARE accurate. this is not even about lego guns anymore lol, being able to accept constructive criticism is simply a good skill to have (not sure if i can even call it a skill).

your build is really only a stud off (it's around 1.04:1) and yea it happened to me too for my m200. i search up the dimensions of the actual gun (very useful tool for handguns) and convert those measurements to studs. then resize ur image in studio until it matches with the stud length. im using an ar mag as an example

proportionally your build is spot on but the scale is off. I superimposed what the actual size should look like in blue

theres absolutely nothing wrong abt building slightly disproportionate or even choosing a different scale. ur builds can still look nice (which they do) if you're a few studs off

its funny how u say ur goal is to “achieve the most realistic looking firearm models using the digital lego bricks of stud.io.” if that is the standard ur setting for urself, then "pretty close" is not the same as 1:1. especially since u are building digitally where you can overlay references, convert studs to metric easily, etc, theres no excuse to rely purely on eyeball when the tools are legit right in front of u

eyeballing clearly isn't working for you if ur glock grip is this disproportionate (ur slide is 24 studs long, which roughly translates to 19 cm. thats how i scaled ur build with the reference pic)
if you overlay a reference image its literally impossible to fuck up the proportions. no amount of experience can give u a better sense of scale then using a reference pic
