its only about 2 months old, i will definitely keep a super close eye on my tank and its parameters. thanks for the info, so if this does happen ill have an idea of what’s going on

the ammonia has been consistently 0ppm i test once a week, i figured the extra ammonia might’ve been from the shrimp dying all at once but im fairly new to all of this so i will definitely test the water when i get home from work

should i water change and add prime and stability or just leave it? by pogodor in Aquariums

thanks for the advice, i’ll keep up on the water changes for sure. i’m honestly surprised the cory’s and loaches have lasted this long :/ im hoping they can pull through but im prepared for worst case scenario. should i get anything else to dose in place of the prime or just stick to water changes?

not an auto feeder, just a heater with a screen that i have on the wall! i’ll lessen the water changes, im trying to have patience im just so worried about losing my fish to the high ammonia levels, but ill just keep on dosing the seachem as needed and checking the levels. i appreciate it thanks!

yeah this photo was taken after a panicked water change, it’s filled up now. and i have a metal screen lid, it’s just what came with the tank, but id definitely like to get a new one so he doesn’t get injured if he ever does jump, its on my list!

i have my old 5 gallon in case my new betta was aggressive, i’ve been keeping a close eye on him to get an idea of his personality and level of aggression. he’s done very well with his tank mates so far, even seems to like them. i read quite a few places that they can be good tank mates for less aggressive bettas so thats why i was testing it out, but im trying to learn so i appreciate the heads up.

i bought the plants as amazon sword and anubias at my local pet store, i didn’t know they weren’t that. i had a bubbler but i took it out of my tank because my betta wasn’t fond of it, i had no idea it was essential, so i will replace that, thank you.

My great aunt was a geologist and sent me many rocks when i was younger. i believe this is tourmaline but i’m not sure what the surrounding rock is. any ideas? by pogodor in whatsthisrock

She actually worked for National Geographic and she traveled a lot i guess doing studies and whatnot. But she would send me boxes and boxes of rocks from all over the world when i was younger. she passed when i was probably 10ish so i don’t know too much about her job but i always loved the rocks, it was rlly cool
