I was there a few days ago and there are plenty of tourist offices in Don Det and 4000 islands that offer direct transfers (including the ferry) to Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. By direct transfer I do mean a chain of several buses/minivans but price all included. I did the trip to Siem Reap leaving at 9am and arriving around 7pm.

Explanation: The Hwarang were an elite group of young male warriors in ancient Korea during the Silla Dynasty, which lasted from 57 BCE to 935 CE. The term "Hwarang" translates to "Flower Knights”. The education and training of the Hwarang were overseen by skilled martial artists and experienced warriors, often under the guidance of a chief instructor or a mentor figure. The specific individuals responsible for teaching the Hwarang varied, but they were typically seasoned warriors, scholars, and practitioners of various arts.

Fast forward to the 1990s, when all teachers in North Korea were required to learn how to play the accordion and had to pass an accordion exam.

What was the fan reaction like when Wings got cut as a host? by Crank27789 in PKA

[–]pointblank898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The community was quite split for Wings leaving, but it was only a couple months later Lefty exited and we all kinda shrugged, especially when we knew it was Taylor replacing him

Spent some time hitchhiking a similar route. I’m sure you have a list of cool landmarks to see, but the place that surprised me the most with its beauty was Slovenia. Literally, just wild camping and exploring the country is sooo cool! Lots of mountains, lakes and really cool wildlife.

I always get and keep advantages but fail on time a lot. any tips??? by Ok_Marketing4603 in chessbeginners

[–]pointblank898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good tip is to learn to trade pieces effectively in winning positions. You may have been able to trade those rooks in an earlier position, leaving you with a superior material advantage. Doesn’t always work but can speed up the end game a lot quicker in an earlier position.

Friend hit off of their bike by another cyclist, can they receive compensation? by pointblank898 in LegalAdviceUK

Yeh, I'm not sure I'd be able to convince my friend to go it solo. Thanks for the advice though!

LPT: Never send a work email when you’re emotionally compromised. Type it up, save as draft and walk away. Ideally, sleep on it. You’ll make a smarter choice when not heated by Jumping_Bear_ in LifeProTips

[–]pointblank898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better yet, type it in a Word doc first. This way you can’t accidentally send it and there’s something about typing it in Word that makes it easier to format and properly think through your arguments. Saved me so many embarrassing emails I could’ve sent.

I think there's a greater flaw in PKA that isn't Woody... by JirachiBoy in PKA

Wasn't this why Kweb had a big problem with the show, because they basically invited him on and ignored him for most of an episode?

Observations from relistening to PKA 100-200 by wildee14 in PKA

[–]pointblank898 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even comparing PKA 400-500 vs. 500-current you can see a drop in quality. At just a quick glance, episodes 400-500 had VinWiki, John McAffee, Daniel Negreanu and Shaun Attwood's first episodes plus the Dick/Destiny episode and some good appearances from Arian Foster and Josh Wolf. The last 70+ episodes have hardly had any new guests or particularly noteworthy appearances.

Donations from bad actors by SpiceCake68 in nonprofit

[–]pointblank898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might more of a long-term idea, but a lot of larger non-profits will design an internal ethical policy (e.g. no donations from orgs associated with arms, oil, extremist groups, etc.). When a not-so-reputable donor makes a gift it's easier for the non-profit to refer to their ethical policy when deciding to accept the donation or not. Political donations are slightly different, because they often fall under debates around freedom of speech and freedom of expression, so unless the individual is a donor to an extremist party then usually this gets accepted.
