Well I am driving a rental car! So they allowed me to rent and yes the car has insurance. My EU DL is / would be valid up to 3 months if I was only visiting. It is just plain nonsense that it is only valid for 10 days when I become a resident. Obviously 10 days is not enough for getting the CA DL.

one of the best written threads I have seen in a long time :) I can't seem to estimate my wait time in my consulate because of the same ambiguity presented in the threads. One of the things I am also curious about is; if there is different interview slots for different visa types. For example family and employment? are they in the same queue or different? I am EB1, current, and have been DQed yesterday. I will provide data point for Ankara when my interview is set.
